Poolex Silverline Top 200T Inverter Heat Pump

Vertical air discharge and Wi-Fi control, with a 15°C minimum heating setting

The 200T is the larger three-phase option. Its 6.3m³/hour water-flow requirement and three-phase electrical supply need to be included in the installation plan. The Silverline Top combines inverter control with an upward discharge arrangement, providing an alternative layout to a front-discharge heater. It still needs clear outdoor airflow and access for installation and maintenance.

The published heating setpoint range is 15–40°C. For koi ponds, this makes the target temperature an essential part of the selection. This controller range does not provide a 12°C winter holding setting. If that is your aim, compare the other air source heat pumps with a suitable lower heating setpoint before ordering.

Choosing for a swimming pool or warmer koi pond

Start with the water temperature you want to maintain and the months of operation. A swimming pool used mainly in summer and a covered koi pond heated through winter have different demands. A model that is suitable for one installation cannot be selected for the other simply because the number of litres is similar.

For pond use, explain the volume, surface dimensions, construction, insulation, cover, location and exposed filtration. If your chosen target is 15°C or above, the control range is only the first check; the available heating capacity must also cover the installation’s losses in the intended weather. A higher target can require significantly more heat than modest winter holding, so have the complete duty assessed.

For a pool, include its surface area, cover use, wind exposure and intended swimming season. Published pool-volume guidance is tied to assumptions about operating conditions. Compare output at matching air and water temperatures rather than treating the model number or a warm-weather maximum as guaranteed winter performance.

Understanding inverter heating

Inverter control adjusts compressor operation within the unit’s working range as demand changes. It can increase output when the water needs more heat and reduce operation as the target is approached. This is different from a fixed-speed compressor cycling at one operating speed. The benefit in a particular installation still depends on correct sizing, circulation and siting.

Heating output and electrical input are different measurements. Efficiency figures also depend on the test conditions. Use comparable figures when assessing two heaters, and do not apply a maximum advertised COP to every hour of the season. Covering and insulating the installation reduces the heat that the equipment needs to replace.

Planning the 6.3m³/hour water circuit

The heater needs the specified water circulation while operating. Check what the pump can supply through the actual filter, hoses or pipework and fittings. The maximum advertised pump flow is measured under different conditions from a complete installed circuit, so it should not be taken as the flow reaching the heat exchanger.

Have an appropriate bypass and isolation arrangement included where the installation requires it. This allows the heater circuit to be balanced and makes future servicing more practical. Confirm the exact unions supplied with the unit before ordering connection parts, support the pipework properly and leave room to disconnect and drain the heater.

Vertical discharge and outdoor space

The upward fan discharge can help with the layout of a restricted plant area, but it does not make the heater suitable for an enclosed box. Keep the required space above the fan and around the air inlet clear. Follow the manufacturer’s clearances and avoid positioning the unit where a low roof or obstruction sends cooled air back towards the inlet.

Choose a stable base, provide a suitable route for condensate and retain access to the controller, water connections and service panels. Consider delivery and moving the unit into position before building surrounding structures. Planting, stored equipment and covers should not be allowed to block the operating air path.

Electrical supply and model selection

This listing is for the three phase 200T. Have a qualified installer check supply capacity, circuit protection, cable design and isolation against the exact unit’s instructions. A similarly named heater with another electrical configuration is not an interchangeable substitute.

Resolve electrical work before ordering, particularly when replacing a smaller heater or introducing three-phase equipment. Remote control does not remove the need for safe local isolation. The installation must also maintain the necessary water circulation whenever the heater’s operating sequence requires it.

Wi-Fi, daily checks and winter care

Built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi allows remote control through the Poolex app. Check signal coverage where the heater will be installed, follow the pairing instructions and keep access to the local controls. App readings are useful for routine monitoring but should be accompanied by physical checks of circulation, drainage and equipment condition.

Make changes to a koi pond’s temperature gradually and monitor with a suitable thermometer. Follow the manual’s maintenance and fault guidance rather than repeatedly resetting a unit that has stopped. If the heater will be taken out of use in freezing weather, drain and winterise it as instructed; switching off electricity alone does not empty the water circuit.

Explore the wider pond heating range and our pond heating guide for help planning the complete system. Provide the intended target and season when asking for a model recommendation.

Installation and operating instructions

Read the Poolex Silverline Top installation manual when planning the position, water circuit, controls and electrical connection. Match the model identification on your supplied unit to its accompanying instructions, and retain those instructions for maintenance and winterisation.

Included fittings and warranty

The UK distributor lists 50mm / 1½-inch water fittings, a condensate drain hose, rubber feet, winter cover, maintenance kit and user manual with the Silverline Top range. Check the connection layout on your installation before ordering any additional pipework or bypass components.

The distributor lists a three-year heat-pump warranty, five years for the compressor and ten years for the titanium coil against corrosion. Cover applies to manufacturing defects, with parts-only cover after year three. Frost damage is excluded: follow the draining and winterisation instructions whenever the unit is unused in freezing weather. Keep the purchase details and the instructions supplied with your particular model.

Compare other Poolex Silverline Top models

Compare heating output at matching air and water temperatures, and check the required water flow and electrical supply. For pond use, confirm that the controller settings suit your intended water temperature before choosing the heating capacity.
