It is suitable for ponds up to 40,000 litres without fish, 20,000 litres with fish, or 10,000 litres with koi, making it ideal for ornamental ponds and lightly stocked koi ponds.

The key feature of the system is the automatic 300 micron pre filter screen. This moving screen continuously removes leaves, algae and coarse debris before it reaches the biological filter media. An intelligent ScreenMatic sensor monitors debris build up and activates the screen only when required, ensuring consistent performance while minimising wear and power usage. Collected waste is transported into an external debris tray for quick and hygienic disposal.

Following mechanical filtration, water passes through eight large capacity biological filter sponges that provide an extensive surface area for beneficial bacteria. These bacteria naturally break down ammonia and nitrite, helping to maintain stable and healthy water conditions. The integrated zeolite granulate further supports water quality by binding excess nutrients and reducing ammonia spikes.

Maintenance is straightforward, with a compression cleaning handle allowing the sponges to be cleaned in place and an instant cleaning button for manual activation when needed. UV sizing and maintenance notes

Oase BioTec ScreenMatic2 40000 should be matched to the pond volume, flow rate and water clarity problem you are trying to solve. UV clarification works best when water passes the lamp at a suitable speed and the quartz sleeve is kept clean. If the flow is too fast, contact time can be reduced. If the lamp is old or the quartz sleeve is dirty, performance can drop even when the unit still appears to be switched on.

• Replace UV lamps as part of routine seasonal maintenance.
• Clean or inspect the quartz sleeve when water clarity starts to deteriorate.
• Match the UV to the pump and filter rather than installing it in isolation.
