Self Cleaning UV Clarifier for Medium to Large Pond Systems

The Oase Bitron C 36 Watt UVC is a high performance ultraviolet clarifier designed to eliminate green water and reduce harmful bacteria in ponds up to 40000 litres. It targets suspended algae directly and, as a result, restores clear and healthy pond water.

Unlike standard UV units, the Bitron C 36W includes a patented automatic cleaning rotor. As water flows through the unit, the rotor continuously moves around the quartz sleeve. Consequently, it prevents debris and limescale from building up, which ensures consistent UV output at all times.

The integrated bypass system combines high flow rates with optimal irradiation time. Because of this clever design, up to 4500 litres per hour can pass the UVC tube without bypassing the radiation zone. In addition, you can regulate the flow using the built in throttle handle, allowing you to match the unit precisely to your pump and filtration system.

A clear inspection window allows you to check bulb operation instantly. Furthermore, the intelligent function monitor provides a visual indication of lamp performance and alerts you when a bulb replacement is required. Integrated magnets help reduce limescale deposits, which protects the quartz sleeve and extends long term performance.

Safety is fully considered. The quick release closure system makes lamp replacement simple, while a built in safety switch automatically deactivates the UV lamp when opened. Therefore, it prevents accidental exposure and meets strict VDE safety standards.

The Bitron C 36 Watt works particularly well with Oase BioSmart 18000, BioSmart 36000 and BioTec ScreenMatic 12 to 18 filters. When paired with compatible Oase flow through filters such as BioSmart, BioTec and ProfiClear, it qualifies for the Oase Clear Water Guarantee.

UV sizing and maintenance notes

Oase Bitron C 36 Watt UVC should be matched to the pond volume, flow rate and water clarity problem you are trying to solve. UV clarification works best when water passes the lamp at a suitable speed and the quartz sleeve is kept clean. If the flow is too fast, contact time can be reduced. If the lamp is old or the quartz sleeve is dirty, performance can drop even when the unit still appears to be switched on.

• Replace UV lamps as part of routine seasonal maintenance.
• Clean or inspect the quartz sleeve when water clarity starts to deteriorate.
• Match the UV to the pump and filter rather than installing it in isolation.
• Allow safe access for lamp changes and winter maintenance.

Good UV performance also depends on mechanical filtration. Removing fine debris before the UV helps the lamp work on green water algae more effectively.
