It is suitable for ponds up to 90,000 litres in ornamental setups, up to 45,000 litres with fish, or up to 22,500 litres with koi, making it ideal for ponds with higher biological loads.

At the heart of the system is Oase’s automatic 300 micron pre filter screen. This continuously removes leaves, algae and coarse debris before it reaches the biological filtration stages. As a result, finer filtration media stays cleaner for longer and overall system efficiency is improved.

In addition, an intelligent ScreenMatic sensor monitors debris build up on the screen. It activates the cleaning cycle only when required, which helps reduce unnecessary wear and energy use. Collected waste is then transported into an external debris tray, allowing for clean and hygienic disposal.

After mechanical pre filtration, water flows through a multi stage biological filtration system using 16 high capacity filter foams. These foams provide a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise. Consequently, ammonia and nitrite are broken down naturally, supporting stable water quality and long term pond health.

Furthermore, the inclusion of special filter granulate improves nutrient control and helps maintain balanced water conditions. This makes the BioTec ScreenMatic2 90000 particularly well suited to larger ponds and more demanding environments.

Maintenance is simple and user friendly. For example, a compression cleaning handle allows the filter foams to be cleaned in place, while an instant cleaning button enables manual activation when needed. UV sizing and maintenance notes

Oase BioTec ScreenMatic2 90000 should be matched to the pond volume, flow rate and water clarity problem you are trying to solve. UV clarification works best when water passes the lamp at a suitable speed and the quartz sleeve is kept clean. If the flow is too fast, contact time can be reduced. If the lamp is old or the quartz sleeve is dirty, performance can drop even when the unit still appears to be switched on.

• Replace UV lamps as part of routine seasonal maintenance.
• Clean or inspect the quartz sleeve when water clarity starts to deteriorate.
• Match the UV to the pump and filter rather than installing it in isolation.
