A simple mechanical float valve that maintains the working water level

Evaporation and splash loss gradually lower the water in a pondless waterfall, fountain sump or water-feature reservoir. The Oase AutoFill Kit uses a compact mechanical float valve to admit a small amount of water whenever the level falls, then close again when the set point is restored.

The valve mounts through a 22mm hole in a suitable flat reservoir wall and offers approximately 38–45mm of level movement. It connects to a standard garden-hose style supply through the included ½-inch fitting, operates at up to 5 bar and has a maximum published flow of 340 litres per hour.

Where it is useful

AutoFill is particularly helpful with concealed Oase feature reservoirs, Maxima pondless systems and pump chambers where the operating level must stay above the pump intake. It reduces routine manual topping-up but does not detect a leak, remove chlorine or replace regular inspection.

Installation checks

• Fit only through a flat, structurally suitable wall.
• Place the float where it can move freely without touching the pump, hose or debris.
• Confirm the intended running level before drilling the 22mm hole.
• Use appropriate supply isolation and backflow protection.
• Test shut-off and inspect periodically for grit or scale.

Frequently asked questions

Will it compensate for a large leak?

It may continue adding water, which could hide a fault. Investigate any unusual consumption rather than relying on the valve.

Does it dechlorinate tap water?

No. In a fish pond, any top-up water still needs appropriate chlorine management.

Does it need electricity?

No. It is a mechanical float valve, but the water-supply installation must be suitable and compliant.
