Oase AquaActiv DuoBoost Pond Biology Booster
Two-phase enzyme, bacteria and mineral support in a dissolving gel-and-ball treatment
DuoBoost combines two different biological support phases. The liquid gel contains enzymes and bacteria that help break down organic dirt, ammonium and nitrite, while the dissolving mineral ball releases trace elements, co-substrates and minerals that are often limited in an artificial pond.
The 5cm version is intended for ponds up to 20,000 litres. The 2cm-ball pack contains multiple smaller balls and treats up to 30,000 litres, which can be easier to distribute through a larger filter or several flowing chambers.
What this treatment is designed to do
- Two-stage biological and mineral action.
- Supports filter bacteria and decomposition of organic material.
- Adds trace elements and minerals as the ball dissolves.
- Can be repeated during the year where required.
- Includes a net for protecting the dissolving balls in ponds with fish.
How to use it responsibly
Add the gel to the pond or biological filter and place the dissolving ball or balls as the pack directs. Where fish are present, use the supplied net so the material cannot be eaten. Maintain circulation and follow the current instruction for temporary UVC shutdown.
- DuoBoost is not an algaecide and will not clear green water on its own.
- Do not allow fish to swallow the dissolving balls.
- Continue testing ammonia and nitrite while a new or recovering filter matures.
Calculate the real water volume after allowing for shelves, stone, pipework and filter chambers. If fish are distressed, oxygen is low or the water values are unsafe, stabilise the system before carrying out non-essential cosmetic treatment. Always retain the batch label and follow the current pack instructions, because formulation and regulatory directions can change.

No bottled treatment replaces adequate filtration, oxygen, sensible feeding and routine removal of organic waste. Used for the correct problem, however, it can be a useful part of a measured maintenance plan rather than a guess-and-hope fix.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the 2cm version treat more water?
The 2cm pack contains multiple smaller balls and is specified for up to 30,000 litres, while the single 5cm version covers up to 20,000 litres.
Can fish eat the balls?
They should not. Use the enclosed net whenever fish are present.
Does DuoBoost replace filter bacteria?
It includes bacteria and enzyme support plus a mineral phase. BioKick remains the more direct choice when the principal task is starting a biological filter.
