The Norfine Pro-Dip range gives you three handle choices around the same 25 × 25cm leaf-net head. Choose the compact Pro-Dip15 for work close to hand, the Pro-Dip36 for a longer fixed handle, or the Pro-DipEXT when you need an adjustable handle. Each option is a complete net with its aluminium handle, rather than a replacement head to attach to an existing pole.

These nets are for collecting leaves and similar loose debris during pond maintenance. The useful difference between the options is where you can comfortably reach from your normal working position. A small pond with an accessible edge may call for a different handle from a raised pond with a wide coping or plants between you and the water.

Choosing a handle for your pond edge

Pro-Dip15: the short handle is a practical starting point for an accessible container, shallow margin or small area immediately beside your working position. It keeps the head close to your hands, which can be useful where a longer pole would be awkward around nearby pots, walls or stored equipment. Check that you can reach the water without leaning over the edge.

Pro-Dip36: choose the longer fixed handle when the compact option would leave you short of your usual cleaning area. It suits a routine in which the required reach stays much the same from one visit to the next. Allow room behind and beside you to move the handle without catching planting or knocking other pond equipment.

Pro-DipEXT: the adjustable version gives you a choice of handle length within its stated range. That can be useful when moving between different pond edges or collecting debris at varying distances. Set and secure the handle according to its supplied instructions before use. Extra length should help you reach from a stable position; it should not encourage you to stretch across an inaccessible part of the pond.

Collecting leaves without overloading the net

Work in small passes and lift out manageable amounts of debris. Let excess water drain back into the pond before moving the net towards a container for disposal. Empty it frequently so wet leaves do not build into a heavy load. If a branch or a clump of material catches on the head, free it carefully rather than pulling harder through the handle.

Use controlled movements around pond plants and give fish room to move away from the working area. A leaf net is not a shovel for compacted sediment or a tool for dragging heavy objects from the bottom. Check the net before and after use

Look over the mesh, head and handle connection before starting. Remove anything sharp or tangled in the net, and check for damage that could worsen during use. Inspect collected debris for small pond creatures before disposing of it. Keep the working area clear so you can empty the net without stepping backwards into loose equipment or an uneven edge.

After cleaning, rinse away trapped material and allow the net to dry before storage. Put it somewhere the mesh cannot snag and the head will not be crushed beneath other tools. An adjustable handle should be clean before it is shortened for storage. Keep the model reference with your pond-maintenance notes if you may need to identify the product later.

Is a Pro-Dip leaf net suitable for moving koi?

Choose equipment specifically intended for fish handling when the task is to guide or transfer koi. A leaf net should not be used as a lifting sling.
