Norfine 100cm Heavy Duty Koi Net Head
A one-metre pan head with an aluminium tube frame and soft 6mm mesh
The Norfine 100cm Heavy Duty Koi Net Head combines a broad pan-style opening with a frame made from half-inch diameter aluminium tubing. Norfine specifies soft 6mm mesh and a click-fitting connection for a suitable handle. This is the largest of the four separately listed Norfine heads in our range, intended for guiding suitably sized koi into position for inspection or transfer.
This NH591 listing is for the head only. A handle is not included, so you can choose the reach you need or use an existing compatible pole. The heavy-duty frame provides a defined construction specification; it does not turn the pan into a lifting basket. Keep fish supported by the water and prepare appropriate transfer equipment before beginning a handling session.

| Netting | Soft 6mm mesh |
| Handle connection | Click fitting |
| Supply format | Net head only; handle sold separately |
Norfine uses both 100cm and 40-inch naming for this model. Treat these as nominal product dimensions rather than a precision-fit measurement. The 12.7mm figure is the conversion of the stated frame tube diameter; it is not the handle socket size or the wall thickness of the tubing.
Planning space for a one-metre head
A 100cm head needs a clear working area. Before choosing it, consider the width of any opening in your pond cover, the distance between shelves and fittings, and the space available to turn the rim near the pond edge. Measure the route you will actually use when bringing a fish within reach, rather than looking only at the pond’s overall length.
Compare it with the Norfine 90cm Heavy Duty Koi Net Head if a slightly smaller footprint would be easier to control. The 74cm Norfine head is another separately listed option. Choose around fish size and access together: a wider head offers more space across the net, but also requires more room to manoeuvre.
Matching the click-fitting handle
Norfine states that this head suits its extendable handles and swimming-pool handles. Check the actual connection on the pole you intend to use, including the retaining mechanism, before assembling the equipment. The head is click fitting, so a threaded pole should not be assumed to connect simply because it is sold for pond use.
Our AquaForte aluminium click-fit handles are separate options with different stated lengths to compare. Confirm the connection before choosing a combination, and select reach around a stable working position beside your pond. The broader head and any additional pole length affect how much leverage you feel while moving the equipment through water.
Fit the empty head first and make sure the retaining points engage properly. Check for damage, excessive movement or a worn socket. If the handle extends, check its length adjustment independently. Keep the connection clear of accumulated grit and debris so that the locking mechanism can operate as intended.
Using the pan during fish handling
Have a suitable bowl, sock or transfer vessel ready before starting. Move steadily to guide the fish into an accessible position while it remains in the water. Watch the rim in relation to walls, pipework and the fish, particularly when turning a head of this size close to an edge.
A Norfine koi sock net can form part of the transfer stage when correctly matched to the fish and task. Follow the instructions for that equipment. Avoid repeated chasing, and reassess your approach if the fish becomes distressed. The pan’s diameter and heavy-duty description do not establish a safe fish weight for lifting it clear of the water.
Mesh care and replacement
The supplied soft mesh has a stated 6mm size. Check it against the fish being handled; it is not a fine-mesh fry-retaining net. Before each session, look for tears or snagged strands and inspect the attachment around the rim. Remove leaves or weed that could obscure your view or interfere with controlled handling.
Norfine offers a separate 1m/40-inch replacement pan net made from soft 6mm mesh, designed to thread onto an existing frame. If the netting wears out, assess the frame and click fitting as well before deciding which parts to replace. Replacing the mesh alone will not resolve a distorted rim or damaged connector.
After use, rinse away debris, allow the net to dry and store it where the broad frame and mesh will not be crushed or caught on tools. Keep equipment hygiene appropriate to the ponds or quarantine systems in which it is used.
