The Kasco VFX Series Aerating Fountain is a floating lake fountain designed for customers who want stronger aeration performance than a purely decorative fountain, but still want a clean and attractive water display. The VFX produces a wide trumpet shaped pattern that throws water outward and upward, creating surface movement, air contact and a visible fountain effect from one floating unit.

This makes the VFX a very useful middle ground between the Kasco JF decorative fountain range and a dedicated surface aerator. It is more aeration focused than the JF Series because it uses a more open, unrestricted trumpet pattern, but it is visually softer and more ornamental than a surface aerator. For lakes, estate ponds, golf course lakes and larger garden ponds, it can improve the appearance of the water while helping reduce stagnant surface areas.

The trumpet pattern is also practical in less than perfect lake water. Because the water path is open and the flow is not forced through narrow decorative nozzle openings, the VFX style is less prone to blocking than more complex display patterns. That makes it a sensible option where the pond has organic debris, suspended sediment or changing seasonal water conditions.

The VFX pattern is designed to move a useful volume of water while still creating a fountain display. Water is drawn into the floating pump unit and pushed upward through the trumpet outlet, where it spreads into a broad, aerating pattern. Model choice and current selectable options

The selectable versions on this page cover the most commonly supplied 1/2HP, 3/4HP and 1HP VFX models with 10 metre or 30 metre power cable options. A 3HP VFX model is also included in the technical table for comparison, as it is useful when planning larger lakes or where greater aeration coverage is required.

As a guide, the 3/4HP VFX produces a trumpet pattern around 1.70 metres high and 6.10 metres wide, and is suitable for aeration support on water bodies up to approximately 2,000m². The 1/2HP model suits smaller lakes and large ponds, while the 1HP model gives a wider display and increased coverage for larger sites.

Installation and mooring guidance

The VFX fountain is supplied as a floating system and should be secured using the supplied heavy duty mooring ropes. The 1/2HP, 3/4HP and 1HP models are supplied with 2 x 15 metre ropes and are normally secured from two positions. The larger 3HP model uses three mooring points for better stability. Anchors are not supplied, as the best anchoring method depends on the lake base, depth, bank access and whether the unit is being moored from the bank or weighted from below.

Keep the power cable slack enough for the fountain to move naturally with water level changes and wind, but not so loose that it can become trapped, strained or pulled into a high wear position. Longer cable runs should always be sized by a qualified electrician to avoid voltage drop and to ensure suitable electrical protection.

VFX, JF or Surface Aerator?

Choose the VFX when you want a visible fountain display with a strong aeration benefit. Choose the Kasco JF Series Decorative Fountain when the main priority is display variety, interchangeable spray patterns and visual impact. Choose the Kasco Surface Aerators when the main priority is maximum oxygen transfer, water movement and lake management rather than a decorative fountain pattern.
