The Kasco JF Series Decorative Fountain is a professional floating fountain system for ponds, estate lakes, commercial landscapes and larger ornamental water features. It is designed for customers who want a proper focal point on the water, not just a small garden fountain. The JF range creates large decorative spray patterns while also moving water at the surface, helping to improve oxygen exchange and reduce stagnant conditions around the display area.

Each JF fountain is built around a floating motor unit, a durable float, mooring lines, protective intake screening and a set of interchangeable fountain nozzles. The standard nozzles use a practical twist and lock style design, so the display can be changed without replacing the whole fountain. This makes the JF Series a flexible choice for customers who want to alter the visual effect between a tall centrepiece, a wide surface spread, a weeping style display or a more architectural tiered pattern.

Choosing the right JF fountain size

Unlike a fixed nozzle fountain, the Kasco JF Series gives you several display styles in one package. The smaller 1/2HP and 3/4HP models are well suited to large ponds and smaller lakes, while the 1HP, 2HP and 3HP models suit larger water bodies where the display needs to be visible from further away. The selectable versions on this page currently cover 1/2HP, 3/4HP and 1HP models with 10 metre or 30 metre power cable options. The 2HP and 3HP models are included in the comparison tables so customers can compare the wider JF range when planning a larger pond, estate lake, golf course lake or commercial water feature.

The JF Series is primarily chosen for its decorative appearance, but it also provides genuine surface aeration benefit. As water is drawn through the unit and thrown into the air, the pond surface is disturbed and oxygen transfer is improved. This can help reduce stale surface conditions, support better circulation, and improve the overall feel of a lake or pond that otherwise looks still and lifeless. For heavy duty water quality work, a dedicated surface aerator may still be the better choice, but for a blend of visual display and useful aeration, the JF Series is a strong option.

Kasco also build these fountains with practical outdoor use in mind. The anti clog design uses a propeller guard, bottom intake screen and debris resistant water flow path to reduce nuisance blockage. The stainless steel motor housing and sacrificial zinc anode help protect the unit in demanding water conditions, including suitable saltwater applications where the correct model and installation guidance are followed. The floating format also makes the fountain easier to position, service and relocate compared with a fixed concrete or pipework based water feature.

Which model should I choose?

Choose the horsepower by balancing the size of the lake, the viewing distance and the amount of movement you want to create. A 1/2HP model is often enough for a large ornamental pond or smaller lake where the fountain will be viewed relatively close up. The 3/4HP and 1HP models give a stronger display and more coverage. The 2HP and 3HP models are better suited to large lakes, commercial sites, estate lakes, golf courses and hospitality settings where the fountain needs to be seen from further away.

Standard fountain patterns for 1/2HP and 3/4HP models

The 1/2HP and 3/4HP JF models are supplied with five standard decorative nozzles: Willow, Sequoia, Cypress, Linden and Birch. These give a useful spread of display styles, from broad surface coverage to taller central spray effects.

The larger JF models use a different standard pattern set: Linden, Spruce, Redwood, Balsam and Birch. These patterns create taller and wider displays suited to larger viewing distances and more open lake settings.

Premium fountain nozzle options

For a sharper or more architectural display, Kasco JF Series Premium Nozzles are available separately. Mighty Oak, Magnolia, Mahogany and Madrone suit smaller and larger JF fountains, while Palm and Fern are available for the 1HP, 2HP and 3HP style range. Premium nozzles are ideal when the display needs a more refined finish for hotels, estates, wedding venues, golf clubs, visitor attractions or high end garden landscapes.

Cable sizing guidance

The supplied cable length may not always match the final distance to the power supply. For longer cable runs, the cable must be correctly sized for the motor load and voltage drop. The guidance below is a useful starting point, but the final design must always be confirmed by an electrician.

Installation notes

• Install in the correct minimum water depth for the chosen model
• Secure the floating unit using suitable anchors or stakes and the supplied mooring lines
• Keep the intake area clear of heavy debris where possible
• Use a suitable control panel with correct protection and timers where required
• Check that the fountain sits level on the water before running
• Do not drag the unit by the power cable
• Consider cord protection where wildlife, fishing lines or maintenance equipment may damage the cable
• Remove, inspect and clean the unit as part of regular lake maintenance

JF, VFX or Surface Aerator?

Choose the JF Series when visual display and customisable spray patterns are the priority. Choose the Kasco VFX Series Aerating Fountains when you want a simpler fixed V shaped display with strong aeration benefit. Choose Kasco Surface Aerators when oxygen transfer and water quality support matter more than decorative pattern choice. For larger or more difficult lakes, aeration can also be supported with biological lake treatments such as Kasco Pond Probiotics, depending on the water quality issue.
