SMART EXTENDER improves the indoor Bluetooth connection between the In-Lite app and a SMART HUB-150 where thick insulated walls, steel construction or the characteristics of the phone make direct communication unreliable. It is a local signal aid, not an internet or smart-home gateway.

Compatibility: choose the correct In-Lite control system

Current In-Lite technical guidance states that SMART EXTENDER works only with SMART HUB-150 and cannot be connected to older CB-series or HUB-50/HUB-100 transformers. It is added to the relevant garden through Settings in the In-Lite app and becomes part of that SMART network.

Where and how to install it

Install it indoors in a room where the app is normally used, such as a kitchen or living room, and near a suitable power socket. Do not put it inside a metal consumer unit, next to the Wi-Fi router, beside a microwave or close to another large metal structure. These positions can create the interference that the extender is intended to overcome.

Practical setup advice

Before buying an extender, test control in the normal locations from which the garden will be managed. If Bluetooth works reliably near a rear door but not deeper in the house, an indoor SMART EXTENDER may help. If control is required from anywhere through the internet, the correct accessory is SMART BRIDGE, not SMART EXTENDER.

Connection, power and system planning

Plug the supplied UK adapter into an indoor socket, use the pair button and add the unit to the chosen garden in the In-Lite app. The unit consumes approximately 1W. Firmware should be kept current through the app. To move it to a different garden, reset it first and then add it to the new SMART network.

This accessory does not replace a correctly sized transformer, suitable In-Lite system cable or a coherent lighting plan. Start by deciding which lights should operate together, then select the correct HUB and control accessories for those zones.
