Silicone strips for servicing Excellent drum assemblies in S400, M500 and L650 sizes

These replacement silicone strips are supplied for the Filtreau Excellent drum range. The S400, M500 and L650 versions give you a choice of service parts for the corresponding drum size. Match the existing strip and drum identification before ordering, particularly if your filter has had replacement drum components fitted in the past.

Sizes and dimensions

The M500 strip measures 1350 × 60 × 5mm and the L650 strip measures 1650 × 60 × 5mm. The size designation and the strip measurements should both be checked against the part being replaced. For the S400 strip, contact us with your filter details and a photograph of the existing part so we can help check the required size.

Identifying the strip you need

Start with the identification label on the filter and any part number on the old strip or its packaging. A photograph showing where the strip sits in the drum assembly is also helpful. When measuring a removed strip, lay it flat without stretching it and record its overall length, width and thickness. Keep the original until the replacement has been checked.

The filter’s advertised pond capacity is not a substitute for identifying its drum components. Similar-looking filters can have different assemblies, so include the full model name when enquiring. Preparing for replacement

Disconnect the filter’s electrical supply before opening it or working around the drum. Follow the maintenance instructions for your exact model, including any requirement to isolate the water circuit and drain the housing. Filtreau’s Excellent filter manual provides the manufacturer’s general maintenance guidance.

Before removing the old strip, photograph its position and the surrounding fittings. Check the assembly for accumulated debris and visible damage, and have any underlying problem investigated before fitting the new part. Follow the model-specific fitting procedure; if you are unsure how the strip is secured, use an experienced filter service technician.

Returning the filter to service

After replacement, check that the assembly has been correctly refitted and all removed parts are secure. Replace the cover before restoring the electrical supply, then follow the filter’s restart procedure and check for normal operation and leaks. Keep a record of the strip size fitted to make future maintenance easier.
