AquaForte Impermax Impermax PU primer is part of the brush- or roller-applied pond-waterproofing system for concrete, mortar, ceramic and compatible GRP surfaces. It is a preparation or system-maintenance product and must be used only for the purpose and substrate stated in the current Impermax application guidance.
Impermax is a professional coating system. Surface condition, moisture, primer choice, temperature, film thickness and curing time all affect the result, so the product should be planned as a complete specification rather than treated like ordinary masonry paint.

Preparation, coverage and curing
Read the technical sheet for the coating and substrate before using this product. Primer selection is driven by surface porosity and moisture; solvent is not a substitute for correct preparation or a way to dilute the membrane without manufacturer approval.
Keep the container sealed, follow the stated ventilation and PPE requirements and observe the full overcoating and cure times before the pond is filled.
Our practical view: Impermax can create an excellent finish on awkward shapes, but it is unforgiving of casual preparation. We would calculate the full wetted area, include a sensible waste allowance and resolve every damp patch before ordering the coating.

Is it the same as pond paint?
No. The membrane is a specified polyurethane waterproofing system applied to a required total thickness.
How much do I need?
For the membrane, the supplier guidance is approximately 1.5–2kg/m² overall. Add the true area and a detailing/waste allowance.
Do I need primer?
Often yes, but the correct primer depends on substrate and moisture. Follow the current technical specification.
Can it bridge structural movement?
It is elastic, but it cannot correct an unstable structure. Cracks and joints need proper detailing.
