Rose Arey Waterlily (Nymphaea ‘Rose Arey’)
Beautiful deep rose pink blooms with a soft fragrance, ideal for bringing colour and charm to medium sized sunny ponds.
The Rose Arey Waterlily (Nymphaea ‘Rose Arey’) is a timeless and dependable variety, loved for its rich rose pink flowers and gentle fragrance. Perfect for medium sized garden ponds, this waterlily delivers a balanced combination of colour, coverage and wildlife benefits, making it a fantastic all round choice for any pond setting.
Flowering from June through to September, Rose Arey produces beautifully shaped cup style blooms in a deep pink tone, each centred with a bright golden yellow core. The flowers sit neatly on the water’s surface, opening in the morning sunlight and closing later in the day, creating a constantly changing and natural display throughout the summer months.
The foliage is made up of rounded, bright green lily pads that provide excellent surface coverage. These leaves not only highlight the vibrant pink flowers but also play an important role in maintaining pond health. By shading the water, they help reduce algae growth, keep water temperatures stable and create a more comfortable environment for fish and aquatic life.
This variety is particularly well suited to medium sized ponds, with a spread of around 50 cm to 90 cm. It is also ideal for slightly shallower planting depths, making it a versatile option for a wide range of pond designs. Whether you are creating a wildlife pond or a decorative feature, Rose Arey fits in beautifully.
In addition to its visual appeal, this waterlily supports biodiversity. The floating leaves provide shelter for fish and amphibians, while the flowers attract pollinators such as bees and insects. This helps create a healthy, balanced ecosystem within your pond.
Hardy and easy to care for, Rose Arey thrives in full sun and still water. Once established, it requires minimal maintenance and will return year after year with consistent flowering.
If you are looking for a reliable, elegant pink waterlily that enhances both the beauty and functionality of your pond, Rose Arey is an excellent choice.
