Remora Professional 26 25.7kW Inverter Heat Pump with Wi-Fi

At a glance

  • Model heat-output rating: 25.7 kW
  • Power supply: Single phase
  • Compressor control: Inverter
  • Air discharge: Horizontal
  • Electrical connection: 32A dedicated circuit

The model rating is heat delivered to the water, not electricity consumption. Compare the test conditions and cooler-weather figures in the technical specifications below.

Controlled heating and cooling with built-in Wi-Fi

The Remora Professional 26 is a higher-capacity inverter heat pump for installations with a substantial assessed heating demand. It provides more output than the Professional 19 in the same published cabinet size, but requires greater water flow and a suitable hardwired supply. Built-in Wi-Fi allows Smart Life app control alongside the unit controls.

For koi keepers, the first decision is what you want the heater to achieve. Holding a covered pond at a moderate temperature during winter is a different job from warming the water earlier in spring. Use the published specifications alongside your pond’s heat requirement when choosing the model. Compare other models in our air source heat pump range, or explore the alternatives under pond heating.

What distinguishes the Professional 26

At air 15°C/water 26°C, the published output range is 9.31–17.85 kW. The required nominal flow is 10–13 m³/hour, so check the hydraulic circuit carefully before choosing this model as an upgrade. A higher-capacity unit connected to restrictive pipework will not deliver the intended system performance. The cabinet is 1020 × 408 × 715 mm and weighs 72 kg; plan a stable base, handling access and the additional space required around the air inlet and discharge.

Choosing it for a covered koi pond

If your aim is approximately 12°C through winter, tell us the pond volume, surface dimensions, construction, cover arrangement and location. Include any exposed filter chambers or long external pipe runs. Two ponds containing the same number of litres can lose heat at very different rates, so volume is a starting point rather than a complete sizing calculation.

The output figures above also show why the model name should not be treated as a guaranteed winter heating output. Published performance changes with the test conditions. Neither of those figures is a specific prediction for a cold night with the pond at 12°C. A winter recommendation needs to allow for the local conditions, heat loss and time spent defrosting. For a winter recommendation, provide the pond dimensions, cover details, location and target temperature so the heater can be matched to the heat loss.

For spring and autumn use, explain when you intend to start heating and the temperature you want to maintain. A heater selected for modest seasonal support may not have enough reserve for continuous winter duty or a higher target temperature. Resolve that choice before comparing purchase prices, as the most economical installation is one selected for the intended job.

Understanding inverter operation

Inverter control allows the compressor to vary its operation as demand changes. During a recovery period the system may need more output; closer to the target, it can reduce its output within its operating range. That does not make running cost a fixed number. Weather, heat loss, water temperature and the amount of heating required all influence electricity consumption.

Heat output and electrical input are different measurements. When comparing pumps, use figures measured under the same air and water conditions. A headline efficiency figure obtained in warm conditions should not be used to estimate the whole winter electricity bill. A pond cover and insulation should be considered alongside the heater rather than added as an afterthought.

Water flow and installation planning

Plan the water circuit so that the heater receives the specified flow. The circulating pump, pipe diameter, fittings and any bypass arrangement all affect what reaches the heat exchanger. Do not assume the pump’s advertised maximum flow is the flow through the installed heater. Include suitable isolation and service access so maintenance does not require dismantling the surrounding filtration.

Before ordering fittings, check the exact supplied union arrangement against the installation manual and the pipework already on your pond. Provide space to disconnect the water connections and to drain the equipment when necessary. A bypass can be useful for setting the heater branch flow and for servicing, but it must be arranged to suit the actual system.

Outdoor siting and electrical connection

Choose a firm, stable outdoor position that leaves the manufacturer’s required clearances around the unit. Keep the air inlet and discharge clear of close fencing, vegetation and stored equipment. Enclosing a heat pump without a designed airflow route can cause it to draw its own cooled discharge air back in, reducing its ability to collect heat.

Allow for condensate drainage as part of the installation. Water produced during normal operation needs somewhere suitable to go without creating a slippery path or collecting around the base. Leave enough access for inspection and cleaning, as well as for opening service panels.

The Professional 26 is hardwired and requires a qualified electrician. Published figures include a 25.5 A maximum current and minimum 32 A C-type MCB. Ask the installer to assess the complete circuit and protection for the location. The fact that it uses a 230 V supply does not make it suitable for connection to an ordinary plug socket.

Daily use, monitoring and winter care

Make temperature changes gradually and monitor the pond with a suitable thermometer. App access is useful for checking settings, but it is not a substitute for inspecting water circulation, the pond and the equipment. If the heater stops, investigate the cause and follow the fault guidance before changing settings repeatedly.

Keep the air path clear and inspect the drainage route regularly. If the heater will be taken out of service during freezing conditions, follow the manual’s draining and winterisation instructions. Switching the electrical supply off alone does not remove water trapped inside the heat exchanger. An idle unit and an actively heating installation require different winter arrangements.

Comparing the next model size

Compare the Professional 26 with the other sizes in the Remora Professional range. Look at the output under matching test conditions, the required flow and the electrical requirements, not simply the number in the model name. Contact us with your pond details if you need help choosing between sizes before placing an order.

Helpful pond heating guide

For more help choosing pond heating equipment and understanding running considerations, see our related guide:

Warranty and supplied fittings

The supplier lists four-year heater cover, with compressor and titanium-coil corrosion cover extending to ten years; after year four this is parts only. Frost damage is excluded.

Included fittings are water connection unions, rubber feet and a condensate hose with elbow, alongside the manual. A winter cover is included.

Check the supplier warranty and installation information for the full conditions. Follow the draining instructions whenever the unit is taken out of service in freezing weather.

Other heat pumps to compare

Compare nearby models and alternative ranges before choosing your heater.

Rated heating output is measured at the stated air and water temperatures. In these figures, A means air temperature and W means water temperature, both in degrees Celsius. Heating output is not electrical consumption or a guarantee of winter performance. For a koi pond, compare the minimum water setpoint and cold-weather output as well as the headline kW rating.

Electrical supply and UK socket connection

Maximum current: 25.5A.

Use the dedicated electrical connection specified by the supplier; this is not a standard 13A plug-and-play installation. The supplier lists 32A circuit protection; this is separate from the maximum operating current.
