Pontec Turtle Water Spout
The Pontec Turtle Water Spout adds a small moving-water feature beside a pond. A separate pump sends water through the ornament, creating a stream back into the pond. It is an option for a pond edge where a large waterfall would take up too much room, or where you want a decorative detail close to a seating area.
This is Pontec reference 36778. The turtle measures 230 × 170 × 125mm and has a 13mm brass hose connection. Its weather-resistant polyresin body is designed as a decorative water spout. The dimensions help you plan its position, but the final water stream will also depend on the pump, hose route and height above the water.

What is supplied?
This listing is for the turtle water spout. The pump is not included. Plan a suitable pump and 13mm hose separately, checking the route and fittings needed for your installation before ordering.
Choose a position where the water returns to the pond
Place the ornament on a firm, stable surface beside the water. Point the outlet into the pond and allow enough room for the stream to land inside the edge. Positioning it very close to paving, a narrow coping or low edging can allow splashes to escape, particularly when the wind changes direction.
Try the position before making a permanent arrangement. View it from the main seating area as well as from the pond edge, and check that the hose can reach without being trapped beneath the ornament or pulled tight around a corner. Leave practical access to the connection for maintenance.
A stone or slab underneath can help create a level location, provided it is securely supported and does not bear on an unprotected liner. Avoid balancing the ornament on loose stones. It is a decorative fitting rather than a structural component, so do not use it to support edging, other ornaments or equipment.
Plan the pump and hose together
The spout needs a suitable pumped water supply. Choose the pump around the flow required at the ornament after allowing for the lift from the pond and the resistance of the hose. A pump’s maximum flow at zero lift is not the flow that will necessarily reach a raised ornament through a long, narrow pipe.
Use a hose that fits the stated 13mm connection correctly, with suitable securing arrangements where needed. Do not force an unsuitable hose onto the fitting or assume that the outside diameter printed on another component is its bore. Check the complete route, including any adaptors needed at the pump outlet.
If taking a feed from an existing pump, consider the effect on its other job. Diverting water to an ornament can reduce the flow reaching a filter or another feature. A controllable branch may help balance the two outlets, but it does not increase the pump’s total available flow. Follow the pump manufacturer’s instructions for adjustment.
Set the stream without losing water
Start with a modest flow and adjust while watching where the water lands. A larger stream is not automatically more attractive or more useful. Excessive flow can create splash outside the pond, while a poorly positioned outlet can send water onto the surrounding ground even at a relatively low setting.
Check the feature again once it has been running for a while. Look for wet ground, drips at connections and changes in pond level. A water loss that seems small over a few minutes can become significant over a long operating period. Correct the position or connection before leaving the feature unattended.
Water movement and the rest of the pond
Returning water through a spout creates surface movement and a different sound from a submerged return. That can contribute to the appearance and enjoyment of the pond. It does not replace suitable filtration, and the ornament itself does not remove waste or provide a rated biological filtration capacity.
Where fish need a dependable aeration supply, choose that equipment separately for the pond’s needs. Do not assume that a small decorative stream will provide enough aeration in every temperature or stocking situation. Keep access to the pond clear so routine checks and maintenance remain straightforward.
Cleaning and seasonal care
Inspect the water outlet and hose connection if the stream changes unexpectedly. Debris in the pump intake, a kinked hose or a restricted outlet can each reduce performance. Isolate the pump before disconnecting pipework, and use the equipment manufacturer’s procedure for cleaning its intake and impeller.
Clean the ornament gently with water and a suitable soft brush. Avoid abrasive methods that could damage the finish, and keep household cleaners away from the pond. Before freezing conditions, follow the supplied seasonal-care instructions and prevent water being left trapped in vulnerable pipework or fittings.
Related equipment and alternative ornaments
If you prefer a different pond-edge design, see our Pontec Fish Water Spout. Compare the shape and dimensions with the space available beside your pond; both ornaments need a separately planned pumped supply.
Browse our pond pumps when planning the feed, checking the pump’s operating curve rather than choosing by headline flow alone. Our pond accessories range can help with the other parts of the installation. Match connections and hose sizes before ordering.
