Fine-bubble oxygenation combined with 1.5m² of biological colonisation surface

OxyTex 400 is more than a conventional air stone. Its fibrous surface disperses air into fine bubbles while providing approximately 1.5m² of protected area for pond microorganisms. Connected to a suitable air pump, it adds oxygen, local circulation and an extra biological surface in one compact unit.

Oase specifies a maximum air-pump output of 500 litres per hour and a maximum pressure of 0.4 bar for this model. It is supplied with 5m of 4.5mm airline and a 9mm adaptor, but the air pump itself is not included. Match the pump to both the required flow and installation depth: deeper placement increases back pressure.

Installation and maintenance

Place the unit where bubbles can circulate water without continually disturbing deep sediment. Keep the air pump dry, ventilated and above water level, or use a correctly oriented non-return valve. If airflow falls, first check the airline, valves and pump diaphragm before cleaning the OxyTex surface. Rinse gently in removed pond water; do not disinfect mature biological media.

Complete the system with a suitable pond air pump, replacement airline and valves, and a properly sized pond filter.
