Mountain Tree 20W Submersible Pond UVC with Float
This Mountain Tree product is the complete 20W submersible UV-C with float for the manufacturer’s 20W submersible pond UV-C system. Submersible UV equipment can be installed in a compatible filter chamber or treatment vessel, avoiding the pressure loss of a separate inline housing.
UV-C light is hazardous to eyes and skin and the electrical installation is safety-critical. The lamp must operate only in its correct enclosed or submerged assembly, with the ballast, seals and cabling kept exactly as the manufacturer specifies.

Safe installation and servicing
Isolate the complete system before opening a filter or handling the lamp. Confirm the permitted orientation, required submersion and water flow around the assembly. The ballast and plug connection must remain in the environment stated by Mountain Tree and be protected by the correct RCD.
During servicing, inspect the cable, seals, quartz protection and connector. Replace only with the exact compatible part and leak-test the assembly before power is restored.
Our practical view: Submersible UV can save pipework and head loss, but it must never become a loose lamp dropped into a filter. Use the complete protected assembly and make future lamp removal possible without dismantling the chamber.
Frequently asked questions
Can I look at the lamp to see if it works?
Never view an exposed operating UV-C lamp. Use the manufacturer’s safe indicator or test method.
Is the lamp universal?
No. Match the 20W Mountain Tree unit, connector and ballast.
Can the ballast be submerged?
Only components explicitly rated and instructed for submersion may be placed in water; keep the ballast as specified in the manual.
Will UV-C replace filtration?
No. The filter still has to remove particles and process fish waste.
When should the lamp be changed?
Follow the Mountain Tree operating-hour guidance; visible light does not prove adequate UV-C output.
