Kusuri Wheatgerm with Kōso X is a complete koi food supplied with a separate spray for coating the pellets. Its analysis is 34% protein and 7% fat, with wheat germ included alongside fish meal and other cereal and plant ingredients. It offers a different formula from Premium or Multiseason for a feeding plan that responds to cooler conditions. Wheatgerm in the name does not mean the recipe is entirely wheat germ, and cold-water feeding still depends on whether the fish are taking food.

Applying Kōso X to the Wheatgerm pellets

The Kōso X spray supplied with this food needs to be matched to its concentration. Kusuri specifies approximately 5 ml (25 pumps) of X5 per 500 g of pellets, or 2.5 ml (12 pumps) of X10 for the same amount of food. Apply it lightly and evenly before feeding. Dry leftover coated pellets before sealed storage, for up to 30 days. Kusuri describes very sparse feeding below 10°C; this is a reduced ration for fish that remain active, not an instruction to feed dormant fish.

Feeding and Storage Guide

• Feed sparingly in cooler water and stop if fish are dormant or not actively feeding.
• Offer small amounts that are cleared quickly, rather than leaving uneaten food in the pond.
• Floating foods make it easier to watch feeding response and avoid overfeeding.
• Reduce feeding if ammonia, nitrite or water clarity deteriorate after feeding.
• Store sealed in a cool, dry place away from damp, pests and direct sunlight.
