Hikari Koi Friend Koi Food

Hikari Koi Friend Koi Food

Floating daily pellets for water at 11°C or above

Hikari Friend is a floating daily food for koi and pond fish, with a guaranteed minimum of 28% protein and 3% fat. Its role is everyday feeding rather than a specialist high-protein growth programme. Floating pellets let you observe feeding response and adjust the next portion.

Feeding guidance

Hikari UK specifies water at 11°C or above. Offer only what the fish take within a few minutes, remove leftovers and adjust feeding to water conditions and activity. A fixed scoop count should not replace observation as the pond cools.

Guaranteed nutritional analysis

• Crude protein: 28% minimum
• Crude fat: 3% minimum
• Crude fibre: 4% maximum
• Moisture: 10% maximum
• Crude ash: 8% maximum
• Phosphorus: 0.5% minimum

Minimum and maximum figures are guaranteed limits, rather than the exact nutrient content of every pellet. Check the declaration on the supplied pack when comparing recipes.

Choosing a pack and keeping it fresh

Bag Size: 4kg, 10kg; Pellet Size: Large Pellet, Medium Pellet. Select the required option to see its price and current availability. Choose a pack you can use while fresh, and make sure the pellet size suits the smallest fish you intend to feed.

Keep the food sealed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Use a dry scoop, prevent pond water entering the pack and discard food that has become damp or spoiled. Continue checking the fish and water quality when changing food or increasing the ration.
