The AquaForte 6 litre solar feeder lets you arrange up to six feeds throughout the day, with an adjustable run time for each feed. Its solar panel charges the internal battery, making it a practical option for a pond where you want automatic feeding without running a permanent mains supply to the feeding position. The clear food container makes the remaining food easy to see, while the digital controls sit behind a protective cover.

This model takes 3–10mm pellets and distributes them across a horizontal angle of 120 degrees. Three distance settings give approximate feeding ranges of one, two or three metres, allowing you to choose a setting that suits the position of the feeder and the available water surface. It is a complete 6 litre feeder, with ground pegs supplied for positioning beside the pond.

Set the feeding routine to suit your fish

You can programme between one and six feeding times per day and set each feed to run for up to 20 seconds. The timer controls how long the feeder dispenses food; it does not measure a selected weight of pellets. Start with a short feeding period and watch how much food reaches the water before deciding on a routine. Pellet size and the food you use will affect the amount dispensed during a particular run time.

The controls allow you to set the current time, feeding times, feeding duration and distribution distance. A run time of zero seconds disables feeding for that setting. There is also a manual feeding function: holding the manual button for three seconds starts a three-second feed, which is useful when checking the position and output before relying on the timer.

Choose your programme around the food manufacturer’s feeding guidance, your fish’s appetite and pond conditions. Automatic feeding makes it easier to repeat a routine, but that routine still needs checking as conditions change. Observe the first scheduled feeds and reduce the quantity if food is left uneaten. A full container should not be treated as a reason to leave the pond unchecked.

Choose suitable pellets and a sensible filling level

The specified pellet range is 3–10mm. This feeder is not intended for flakes or sticks, so check the food format as well as the printed pellet diameter before filling it. The six litre figure describes the volume of the food container, rather than a guaranteed weight of food. Different pellets occupy that space differently, so a six litre container should not be described as holding six kilograms. Keep the food dry and inspect it when refilling. The manual identifies clumped food as a possible reason for the mechanism running without throwing food out.

Positioning and distribution settings

The manufacturer shows two installation methods: using the supplied ground anchors in suitable earth, or securing the feeder to a board or firm ground with screws. Choose a stable position where the feeder cannot tip or fall into the pond. Allow access to the container, controls and power switch so that routine checks and refilling remain straightforward.

The small, medium and large settings correspond to approximate feeding distances of one, two and three metres. Select the shortest setting that distributes the food where you need it, then test the actual spread at your pond. The stated distances are approximate, so check that pellets land on the water rather than on coping, planting or nearby paths. The 120-degree horizontal spread also needs to be considered when positioning the outlet near a corner.

Solar charging and power

The integrated solar panel recharges the internal lithium battery. The screen provides charging and battery-level indicators, allowing you to check the power supply during normal visits to the pond. Position the feeder with solar charging in mind rather than placing it permanently beneath dense cover.

The manual also specifies a separate 12V, 1.66A power adapter for this model. An adapter is not included. If supplementary charging is needed, use an adapter confirmed as suitable for this particular feeder. When the unit will not be used for an extended period, follow the manufacturer’s instruction to turn off its external power switch.
