AquaForte 7 Litre Expansion Container for the 8L Fish Feeder

Increase your existing feeder’s food capacity to 15 litres

The AquaForte 7 litre expansion container adds extra food storage to the AquaForte Automatic Fish Feeder 8L. Fitted above the original container, it increases the combined capacity from 8 to 15 litres. It is a useful accessory when your existing feeder’s hopper needs refilling more often than you would like, while allowing you to keep using the feeder you already own.

This listing is for the expansion container. To start a new automatic feeding setup, choose the complete AquaForte Automatic Fish Feeder 8L. The extension adds storage; the feeder continues to control when food is released and how much is dispensed.

Choose the correct container for your feeder

This accessory is intended for the AquaForte 8L feeder. Check the model of the unit you own before ordering: AquaForte also produces other feeders, including the separate Econo 7L model. The seven-litre figure in this accessory’s name describes the extra capacity, rather than the size of the feeder it fits. If you are unsure which unit you have, send us a photograph of your feeder and its model label so we can help you identify it.

Extra capacity without increasing the daily ration

A larger food store can reduce the frequency of refilling, but the amount your fish need should still determine the feeder programme. Keep a suitable daily ration and observe the fish during feeding. Adding storage is not a reason to increase the amount released at each feed.

Capacity is given in litres, which measures volume. The weight of food that fits depends on the pellets you use, so a 15 litre container should not be treated as a 15kg food store. Equally, there is no fixed number of days between refills: that depends on the quantity dispensed each day. Check actual consumption with your normal food before relying on an extended refill interval.

Keep using food suited to the original feeder

AquaForte specifies 3–10mm pellets for its 8L feeder and excludes dried shrimp and insects. The expansion does not change those feeding requirements. Keep the original feeder instructions with your equipment and check them when changing food type or setting up the unit again after storage.

Plan space for the taller feeder

The extra container sits above the original hopper, so consider access as well as capacity. You still need to reach the top to refill it and inspect the food. Before fitting it beneath a pond cover or beside an overhanging structure, check that the taller arrangement will leave comfortable working space. Follow the mounting instructions for your feeder and make sure the completed assembly is supported securely before filling it.

Keep the feeder away from fountain spray and air jets, as directed in the AquaForte manual. The extra storage is intended to hold food ready for dispensing; it does not make the feeder submersible or remove the need to protect the contents from unwanted water. A position that is convenient to refill and check will be more useful than one that simply keeps the equipment out of sight.

Look after the stored food and feeding equipment

The feeder has a desiccant basket beneath its cover, and the manufacturer’s instructions describe using desiccant for extended outdoor operation. Check this as part of your normal feeder care. The manual also recommends wiping the feeder surface with a soft towel and keeping the unit out of water. Refer to the instructions supplied with your particular feeder before dismantling or cleaning its working parts.

Use refill time to look at the food already in the container. If pellets have become damp or clumped, deal with that before adding more food on top. Check that food is reaching the pond as expected during an observed feeding cycle, particularly after moving the feeder or changing pellets. A larger hopper makes these simple checks just as relevant as they were with the original container.

Choosing between a larger hopper and a new feeder

If your AquaForte 8L unit already gives you the feeding control you need, this extension addresses its storage capacity directly. If you need a different dispensing system, different controls or a feeder for another position around the pond, compare complete feeders instead. For compatible power options, see our AquaForte 8L feeder power accessories, which are sold separately from this container.

You can consult the AquaForte automatic feeder manual for the illustrated parts layout, mounting guidance and operating instructions. Keep those instructions available when adding the container and checking the completed setup.
