Aqua Source Aqua Balance Drum Friendly Clay

Aqua Source Aqua Balance Drum Friendly Clay

Mineral, clay or buffer treatment for stable pond water and koi support

Mix the clay with pond water in a bucket, stir thoroughly, allow it to stand briefly, stir again and distribute evenly around the pond. For best results, apply during the evening and use as part of a regular pond maintenance routine rather than only when the water already looks poor. Weekly dose: 31g per 1,000 litres Daily maintenance dose: 4g per 1,000 litres Available sizes: 2.5kg and 5kg Mineral content: over 65 essential minerals Suitable for koi ponds, garden ponds, drum filters, gravity systems and pump fed systems

Mineral, clay and buffer products are used to support water stability rather than to mask a deeper water quality problem. Products such as Aqua Source Aqua Balance Drum Friendly Clay are most useful when KH, GH, pH, mineral content or suspended fines need attention. Testing first is important, because very soft water, low KH or unstable pH can affect fish health, filter bacteria and the way other treatments behave in the pond.

Aqua Source Aqua Balance products cover live bacteria, filter gel, buffer minerals, clay, enzyme support and blanketweed treatments. Their range is aimed at biological balance, water stability and koi pond maintenance rather than one single cure-all treatment.

Water balance guidance

Use Aqua Source Aqua Balance Drum Friendly Clay with an understanding of your pond’s KH, GH and pH stability where relevant. Mineral and buffer products can be very useful, but sudden changes should be avoided. If the pond is very soft, heavily stocked or exposed to heavy rain dilution, regular testing gives a safer picture than occasional guesswork.

• Test KH, GH or pH where relevant before dosing.
• Add gradually if the label recommends staged dosing rather than one large correction.
• Keep strong aeration when using powdered treatments that temporarily cloud the water.
• Do not use mineral products as a substitute for correcting underlying water quality issues.
• Check compatibility if using alongside medicines or blanketweed treatments.
• Allow filters and skimmers to clear fine particles after application.
