Remora Swimming Pool Heat Pumps

On/off, inverter and Professional Wi-Fi models for efficient residential and larger pool heating

The Remora range lets us match three different levels of pool heating: the simpler Remora F on/off family, the variable-speed Remora Inverter and the premium Remora Professional. They share black outdoor styling, but the way they control output and the supplied warranty package are different.

For most frequently used pools, inverter control is attractive because it can reduce compressor and fan speed as the set temperature is approached. The on/off model remains useful where purchase price and straightforward fixed-speed operation take priority.

We compare the unit’s output at realistic air temperature, not just the warm test line, and size it alongside the cover, circulation flow and intended swimming months.

Three Remora Choices

Remora F On/Off

The Remora F uses conventional fixed-speed operation with Wi-Fi control. It suits a simpler seasonal installation where inverter modulation is not essential.

Remora Inverter

The Remora Inverter uses stepless compressor and fan control with Powerful, Silent and Smart operation.

Remora Professional

The Remora Professional is the premium family, adding a higher-grade cabinet/control package and Boost, Silent, Eco and Smart choices.

Output and Electricity Must Be Compared Together

Look at heating capacity, input power and COP at the same air/water condition. The smaller Remora models may be supplied with a plug, while larger sizes require professional connection and may have significantly higher maximum current.

Do not order until the selected variation, voltage and phase have been checked against the site supply.

Get the Most from a Remora

Use a well-fitting pool cover, correct bypass flow and unrestricted outdoor airflow. Keep the evaporator clean and avoid placing the exhaust against a wall or back into the intake.

Plan winterisation before the first frost. Water trapped in a titanium exchanger can still freeze and split the surrounding assembly.

Our advice: inverter technology is useful, but the cover usually delivers the first and cheapest efficiency improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Remora families are on this page?

Remora F On/Off, Remora Inverter and Remora Professional.

What is the main difference between on/off and inverter?

On/off operates at fixed output when called. Inverter models modulate compressor and fan speed.

Do all current Remora families have Wi-Fi?

The current product listings include Wi-Fi, but check the exact variation and app/network requirements.

Can Remora units heat and cool?

Selected inverter models provide both functions. Confirm the exact on/off model operating modes.

Which Remora has Eco mode?

The Professional range is described with Boost, Silent, Eco and Smart modes.

Which is the entry-level choice?

Remora F On/Off is the simpler fixed-speed family.

Are small Remora models plug and play?

Some smaller variations are supplied with a UK plug and RCD lead; confirm the exact model and suitable supply.

Can the app diagnose every fault?

Remote status can help, but hydraulic, electrical or refrigerant faults may still require competent on-site diagnosis.

Is the black cabinet weatherproof?

It is designed for outdoor use, but must be positioned and maintained exactly as instructed.

Can I use Remora on a salt pool?

The titanium heat exchanger supports compatible pool-water duties within the model chemistry limits.

Which warranty applies?

Warranty length differs between Remora Inverter and Professional packages and between components. Check the current exact listing.

Can the same Remora model heat a koi pond?

Some models are sold for both pools and koi ponds, but sizing and temperature strategy differ.

Why is a pool cover so important?

Most heat escapes from the water surface. A suitable cover can reduce heat loss dramatically and may change the heat-pump size and running cost.

Does the headline kW stay the same in cold weather?

No. Heat output and COP change with air temperature, water temperature and humidity. Compare the cold-condition performance for your season.

What does COP mean?

Coefficient of performance compares heat delivered with electrical input at stated test conditions. It is not a fixed year-round efficiency figure.

Why is a bypass useful?

A correctly set bypass helps keep flow through the heat exchanger within the permitted range and makes isolation and servicing easier.

Is water beneath the outdoor unit a leak?

Often it is normal condensate from the evaporator, especially in damp weather. Check that it is clear water and that the condensate drain is unobstructed.

Can the unit be enclosed in a shed?

Normally no. It needs the manufacturer clearances and unrestricted outdoor airflow; recirculating cold exhaust air reduces output and efficiency.

Who should install the electrical supply?

A qualified electrician should provide the correct protected circuit, isolation and cable sizing. Plug-fitted models still need a suitable outdoor supply.

How do I prevent frost damage?

Follow the exact winterising instructions. If the circulation is stopped, drain all trapped water from the heat exchanger and pipework.

Can you help size a heat pump?

Yes. Send water volume, surface area, target temperature, months of use, location, cover type, filtration flow and electrical supply.

Should chemical dosing enter before the heater?

Follow the installation manual; dosing equipment is normally placed downstream so concentrated chemical cannot enter the heat exchanger.

Why does flow matter?

Too little flow can cause faults or poor heat transfer; too much can exceed the unit limits. Use the specified range for the exact model.

How long will initial heating take?

It depends on water volume, starting and target temperatures, weather, cover and the unit’s output at those conditions. Maintaining temperature is easier than the first warm-up.
