Yamitsu Algae Master Replacement UV Bodies
Genuine housings for compatible 6W, 11W, 15W, 25W, 30W and 55W clarifiers
A damaged UV housing does not always mean replacing the whole clarifier. These genuine Kockney Koi Yamitsu replacement bodies provide the water chamber for compatible Algae Master units, allowing a repair where the other components remain suitable and serviceable. Choose the body that matches your existing unit: the small standard housing is for compatible 6W and 11W models, with separate housings for 15W/25W and 30W/55W models.
These versions are different physical parts. Check the model label, the existing body and its connections before ordering. A replacement body restores the housing; it does not increase the output of your lamp or turn a smaller UV into a higher-wattage unit. If you are unsure which version you have, send us a clear photograph of the label and the whole assembly so we can help identify it.
Choose your replacement body
| Option | Compatible Yamitsu Algae Master models | Manufacturer part |
|---|---|---|
| 6W / 11W standard body | Compatible standard 6W and 11W units; not the Mega Filter housing | Select by original housing and unit label |
| 15W / 25W body | Compatible standard 15W and 25W units | 004107 |
| 30W / 55W body | Compatible standard 30W and 55W units | 004090 |
These are replacement housings, rather than complete powered UV clarifiers. The lamp, quartz sleeve, electrical components and associated service parts should be checked separately. In particular, check the connection layout if your filter uses a purpose-made Tri-Port unit rather than a standard inline Algae Master.
When a replacement housing may be appropriate
A cracked chamber, damaged connection or other physical defect can prevent a UV unit operating correctly. Before buying a body, establish where the problem originates. A leak at the quartz sleeve seal, for example, may require an O-ring or retaining component rather than a new outer chamber. Equally, poor green-water control does not automatically indicate a housing fault; lamp age, water flow and the condition of the quartz sleeve also matter.
Inspect the complete assembly while the system is isolated. If electrical components have been flooded, damaged or affected by overheating, replacing the plastic chamber alone is not a suitable remedy. Compare the total repair requirement with a complete replacement clarifier before proceeding. This avoids buying one part and then discovering that several other major components also need attention.
Related lamps, sleeves and small parts
We also list Yamitsu Algae Master replacement UV bulbs, Yamitsu quartz sleeves and Algae Master replacement parts. These are useful when assessing a repair, but each component must match the particular unit. Select the lamp by its specified wattage and fitting, and compare the sleeve and seals with the originals.
A lamp that still lights can have reduced useful UV output. Kockney Koi recommends replacing Algae Master UV lamps every six months to maintain performance. The quartz sleeve also needs to remain clean so that light can reach the passing water. Neither issue is corrected merely by replacing the outer body, which is why checking the system as a whole is worthwhile.
Plan access and pipe connections
Consider how the existing chamber is connected before dismantling it. Solvent-welded fittings may form a permanent joint, so allow for any pipework or fittings that must be replaced as part of the repair. Do not assume that a glued fitting can simply be removed intact and transferred. Leave enough working room to support the body, handle the glass sleeve carefully and inspect the completed joints.
The Algae Master instructions recommend demountable couplings and valves where solvent-weld pipework is used, making later servicing easier. They also explain the importance of avoiding unnecessary restrictions in the hose connections. Plan a layout that follows the unit’s instructions and supports the connected pipes without placing strain on the replacement chamber. For a wall-mounted single-body installation, follow the manufacturer’s guidance on horizontal, level positioning.
Replacing and checking the assembly
Disconnect the UV from its electricity supply, stop the pump and drain the unit before servicing it. Follow the supplied Algae Master instructions for removing the lamp and quartz components. The glass is fragile, so work somewhere clean and stable, with space to set parts down safely. Keep the electrical components dry throughout the work, and never operate a UV lamp exposed outside its intended housing.
Inspect seals and retaining parts during reassembly rather than forcing worn components back into place. The manufacturer specifies hand tightening for the quartz retaining nuts. Carry out the prescribed water-flow and leak checks before returning the electrical UV components to normal operation. If the repair involves electrical damage or you are uncertain about the assembly, use a competent person to assess it.
Protect the replacement from repeat damage
Correct positioning helps avoid another damaged body. Kockney Koi states that Algae Master units must not be submerged, exposed to flooding or allowed to freeze. Choose an accessible, ventilated installation and make provision for removal and storage if the location cannot be protected from freezing. Keep the pump strainer and delivery pipework clear so water can pass through the unit as intended.
Before ordering, have the wattage, model label and photographs of the existing housing ready. That information is more useful than the pond volume when identifying a replacement chamber. For a completely new UV installation, compare the complete Algae Master clarifiers instead, so that the lamp, housing and electrical equipment are supplied as a matched unit.
