Yamitsu Algae Master Replacement Electrics
Match the electrical pack to your existing UV clarifier
These genuine Yamitsu Algae Master electrical packs are replacement components for compatible Kockney Koi UV clarifiers. They offer a repair option when the electrical assembly needs replacing and the rest of the unit remains suitable for continued use. Choose the pack by the exact Algae Master model, lamp wattage and lamp arrangement, rather than by the size of the pond.
Choose single-lamp packs for 11W, 15W, 25W, 30W and 55W Algae Master units, or the 110W twin-lamp pack for a unit using two 55W lamps. Match both the total wattage and lamp arrangement printed on your equipment. The 55W single-lamp pack and 110W twin-lamp pack are different assemblies; compare the unit label and lamp connections before selecting a replacement.

An electrical pack is not a complete UV clarifier. The water chamber, quartz sleeve and lamp should be assessed separately. If your unit has suffered physical damage as well as an electrical problem, identify everything required before deciding whether repair or complete replacement is the better option. Selecting a more powerful electrical pack is not a method of upgrading the existing unit.
Identify the problem before ordering
Poor water clarity alone does not establish that the electrical pack is faulty. The Algae Master relies on suitable water flow, a serviceable lamp and a clean quartz sleeve. A blocked pump strainer, restricted hose or dirty sleeve can affect performance even when the electrical assembly is operating. Review the condition and maintenance history of the complete system before buying replacement components.
If there are signs of damaged wiring, water entering the electrical equipment, overheating or repeated protective-device trips, leave the equipment isolated and arrange an appropriate inspection. Do not keep resetting the supply to see whether the fault clears. Kockney Koi’s instructions state that the electrical box contains no serviceable parts and that a damaged integral supply cord requires the unit’s electrics to be scrapped.
Check the model and connections
Read the label on the UV and take photographs of the electrical pack, lamp connections and whole assembly. These help distinguish the single-lamp and twin-lamp configurations, especially on an older installation where labels have faded or other components have already been replaced. Keep the original identifying details with the pond equipment records so future lamp and spare-part purchases are easier.
Do not select a pack solely because its housing looks similar in a photograph. Different wattages can share an external appearance while serving different lamps. The model and manufacturer reference in the selection table are the important starting points. If the existing UV has been modified, ask for identification help before ordering rather than assuming that the current wiring represents the original factory arrangement.
Related Algae Master service parts
For routine lamp changes, see our Yamitsu Algae Master replacement bulbs. Kockney Koi recommends changing the UV lamp every six months to maintain its intended performance. A lamp that remains visibly illuminated may still have reduced useful UV output, so replacing the electrical pack will not compensate for an old lamp.
We also stock Yamitsu quartz sleeves and Algae Master small replacement parts. Check the sleeve for damage and deposits, and inspect seals and retaining components during a planned service. Match each spare to the unit; different parts within the same brand are not necessarily interchangeable.
Plan the repair safely
Isolate the UV from mains electricity and turn off the water supply before any maintenance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact unit and use a competent person for electrical work. The replacement pack should be fitted as the intended assembly, without opening or modifying the sealed electrical box. Keep the electrical components dry throughout the work and never operate an exposed UV lamp.
Where the repair requires disturbing the quartz sleeve or water chamber, follow the prescribed reassembly and leak-test sequence before normal operation resumes. Take care with the glass sleeve and avoid forcing connections. A complete check includes both the water circuit and the electrical assembly; the absence of a visible water leak alone does not prove that an electrical fault has been resolved.
Positioning and ongoing care
The Algae Master instructions require protection from flooding, submersion and freezing. Check the existing installation before returning a repaired unit to service, particularly if water exposure contributed to the original failure. A dry, accessible and appropriately protected position makes future inspection and maintenance more straightforward. Keep the equipment clear of locations where surface water collects during heavy rain.
Maintain the connected pump, strainers and pipework so the UV receives the intended flow. Keep a record of lamp changes and inspect the installation as part of normal pond maintenance. If the cost of several replacement parts approaches the price of a complete unit, compare the complete Yamitsu Algae Master clarifiers as well. Send us the model details if you would like help choosing between repair and replacement.
