Replacement Tub Covers for Floating Koi Inspection Nets
76 cm and 106 cm elasticated covers for your existing inspection setup
Replace a missing or worn cover without buying another complete floating inspection net. These replacement tub covers are available in 76 cm and 106 cm sizes, giving you a choice to match the corresponding inspection net in your pond equipment. Each option is a cover only; the floating cage, bowl and fish-handling equipment are purchased separately.
A covered inspection net allows you to keep an individual koi separate from the rest of the pond while retaining access for observation. The cover closes over the top of the net, so choosing the correct size matters just as much as choosing the right net in the first place. Select the size of your existing setup before adding the replacement to your basket.
Choose your replacement cover
| Cover option | Intended size match | Included |
|---|---|---|
| 76 cm tub cover | Corresponding 76 cm floating inspection net | Replacement cover |
| 106 cm tub cover | Corresponding 106 cm floating inspection net | Replacement cover |
The larger cover is 30 cm wider in its stated size. It should therefore be chosen for the larger net, rather than as a loose alternative for the smaller model. An elasticated edge helps the cover sit around the rim, but it does not make the two sizes interchangeable. Match the original cover size wherever possible.
Check the fit before ordering
Start with the size recorded on your original inspection net or its order details. If these are unavailable, measure across the opening and check the shape and outside edge over which the cover will sit. A measurement across the water surface alone may overlook a wider rim. Comparing the existing cover and net together is more useful than judging the replacement from a photograph.
These covers are also offered for use with koi inspection bowls. Bowl rims vary, so check your bowl’s dimensions and rim profile before choosing one. A nominal bowl capacity in litres does not tell you its opening diameter, and a bowl described as suitable for large koi is not a size specification. If the bowl is an unfamiliar make, use its actual measurements rather than assuming that every 76 cm or 106 cm description means the same fit.
A replacement cover or a complete inspection net?
If your floating net is sound and only its cover needs replacing, a separate cover lets you retain the equipment you already have. Check the cage mesh, seams and floating frame at the same time: replacing the top will not repair a hole in the side or a damaged frame. Choose one of our Norfine floating inspection nets with covers if those parts also need replacing or if you are setting up for the first time. The complete nets are available in corresponding 76 cm and 106 cm options.
A cover is one part of a fish-handling setup. You will still need equipment appropriate to the size of the koi and the work you are doing. Have the bowl or inspection net ready before moving a fish, and plan where your hands and equipment will go so the cover can be removed and refitted without unnecessary handling.
Fitting and using the cover
Fit the cover around the rim and check the whole edge before use. It should sit evenly, without an obvious loose section that can lift away. Make this check with the equipment empty first, so you can resolve a poor fit without a fish waiting in the inspection setup. Do not stretch a smaller cover excessively to compensate for a mismatched size.
During use, continue to observe the koi and the position of the cover. A retaining cover does not replace supervision or attention to water quality and oxygen. Keep handling and inspection as brief as the job allows, and use a separate, properly equipped quarantine system when isolation needs to continue. A floating inspection cage shares pond water and does not provide separate water for quarantine or treatment.
Cleaning and storage
After use, remove visible debris and rinse the cover. Follow the instructions for any fish-equipment cleaning or disinfecting product you use, including rinsing and drying requirements, before returning the cover to service. Take particular care with equipment moved between ponds or used around fish being investigated for illness.
Check the mesh and elasticated edge again before putting the cover away. Store it clean and dry, away from sharp tools or fittings that could snag it. Making this inspection part of your normal equipment routine helps you identify a damaged cover before the next time you need to catch or examine a koi.
