Perforated Filter Sheet — 1m × 1m × 3mm
This perforated filter sheet measures 1 metre by 1 metre and is 3mm thick. The 3mm specification describes the sheet thickness, not the diameter of its perforations. Choose the sheet for an appropriate support or separation arrangement in your filter design.
A perforated support sheet has a different job from a fine filter foam or a complete biological cartridge. Match the actual arrangement you are building and check its supports. This listing does not assign an unstated hole diameter, open-area percentage or load-bearing rating.
Supplied sheet

The selected item supplies the sheet described above. A complete filter chamber, supporting frame, cutting tools and other media are separate. Measure the space available inside the filter before ordering; the outside dimensions of a box do not establish the usable space around its inlet, outlet and internal supports.
Plan the media position
Start with the filter’s intended water route and the position where the sheet will be used. Media should be arranged so that water reaches the intended area without an easy bypass. Leave access to lift out or service the installed section, and keep the drain and outlet free to operate as designed.
The sheet dimensions do not, on their own, specify a pond capacity or a maximum flow. The whole filter arrangement, other media stages, pump flow and maintenance all affect the result. Follow the filter instructions when deciding how much material to install and how it should be supported.
Measure before changing an existing layout
If you are replacing a section, record the dimensions of the old material and inspect how it is held in position. Check the usable width and height at more than one point if the chamber is tapered. Allow for the lid, removable fittings and any space needed to withdraw the media without dismantling surrounding pipework.
A tightly packed arrangement is not automatically a better filter. Water needs to follow the route intended by the equipment, and maintenance needs to remain practical. Avoid a layout in which cleaning requires pulling against unsupported pipes or where a displaced section can obstruct an outlet.
Preparing the sheet
Work with the equipment safely isolated and the affected chamber drained as its manual requires. Lay out the intended dimensions before making any alterations. If the installation calls for cutting the material, use tools and a method suitable for the actual sheet, protecting yourself and keeping loose fragments out of the water route.
Check the finished edges and remove loose debris before fitting. Place the sheet in the intended support arrangement without forcing it around obstructions. A neat, accessible installation makes later cleaning easier and helps you see whether the material has moved from its original position.
Keep the filter stages distinct
A pond filter may include mechanical and biological stages that need different forms of care. Identify the purpose of the position you are changing before choosing replacement material. A sheet selected for a supporting role is not necessarily a direct replacement for a fine foam or a complete cartridge from a different filter.
Plan major changes to an established biological stage carefully and follow the equipment guidance. Keep the pond’s other required filtration and aeration operating, and check water quality after maintenance. Clean-looking material is only one part of assessing whether the complete system is functioning properly.
Inspect after restarting
Refill and restart the system as the equipment instructions describe. Watch the normal chamber water levels, confirm that water reaches the intended route and check for any media movement or unwanted restriction. Correct a misplaced section before leaving the filter to run unattended.
Make the new media position part of routine inspection. The amount of waste reaching it can change with feeding, season and upstream maintenance. Check its condition rather than relying solely on a fixed cleaning interval taken from another installation.
Cleaning and replacement
Use the cleaning method recommended for the role of the installed material. When maintaining media with an established biological film, avoid unnecessarily stripping or replacing the whole stage at once. Rinse removed debris into a suitable container instead of releasing it into the next chamber.
Inspect the sheet and its supports for damage, displacement or an unsuitable fit. A damaged piece that cannot remain securely in position should be replaced rather than repeatedly forced back into the chamber. Retain the product dimensions with your maintenance notes so that a later replacement can be selected accurately.
Compare the surrounding media
Browse our Aqua Source Japanese matting for a separately named matting range, or compare filter brushes where the filter uses a removable brush stage. Choose each component for its actual role in the chamber. This product supplies the stated perforated filter sheet; it does not include a complete filter or an unspecified set of supports.
