Oase InScenio FM-Master 3 pond and garden remote controller
The Oase InScenio FM-Master 3 brings several suitable pond or garden electrical devices together at one outdoor control point. Its handheld radio transmitter lets you operate three channels, including a dimming channel for equipment specifically designed for that type of control. A separate permanent outlet remains available for equipment that needs a continuous supply.
This is the original FM-Master 3, UK reference 56473. It is a practical option where you want a physical remote handset rather than an app. It is a different product from the FM-Master EGC Cloud, so choose by the functions and connection arrangement you need, not simply by the similar InScenio name.
Understand the UK connections before ordering
The UK operating manual shows a mains terminal connection, three wired output channels and a permanent socket. Do not plan the installation on the assumption that it is a four-socket domestic extension lead. Have the installer review the GB manual and the equipment you intend to connect before deciding where the controller will sit and how the cables will reach it.

|---|---|
| Channel 1 | Remote on/off |
| Channel 2 | Remote on/off |
| Channel 3 | Remote on/off and dimming for compatible loads |
| Permanent socket | Continuous supply while the unit is powered |

What the dimming channel can do
Electrical dimming is useful only when the connected equipment supports it. A suitable electronically adjustable pump may allow its output to be varied, but a pump being an Oase product does not automatically make it compatible. Check the individual pump’s instructions for external dimming approval and make sure its electrical load falls within the controller’s stated range.
Equipment supplied through a transformer must not be connected to the dimming channel. Likewise, do not use that output as a general connection for an electronic controller, UV clarifier or any appliance whose instructions do not permit dimming. Choosing the right output at installation prevents a feature that should be convenient from becoming a source of faults.
Plan the installation around your pond
Draw up a short equipment list with each item’s electrical input, location and operating pattern. Separate the devices you want to switch occasionally from the systems that normally run continuously. That helps the installer allocate channels sensibly and avoids placing essential filtration on a channel that could be switched off accidentally during normal use of the handset.
The maximum total rating is a limit for the complete controller, not an allowance for every outlet separately. It also does not mean that a normal 13 A plug connection can supply 16 A. Circuit protection, cable selection and the fixed outdoor connections need to be assessed for the actual installation by a qualified electrician. An RCD with a rated residual operating current no greater than 30 mA is required by the manual.
Choose a stable, accessible, dry location at least two metres from the pond edge. Keep the protective hood fitted and allow access for inspection. Splash resistance does not make the controller, connections or plugs safe to immerse. Avoid a low point that floods after rain, and route cables so that routine gardening and pond maintenance will not damage them.
Using the remote day to day
The handset needs to be paired with the receiver before use. Follow the supplied teach-in procedure and check each assigned channel while the equipment is visible. Label the installation so that anyone looking after the pond understands which controls operate which devices. Radio range depends on the route between the handset and receiver; walls, obstructions and interference can reduce the useful distance.
After a power cut, check the connected equipment rather than assuming that normal pond operation has resumed. The manual states that switched outlets are off after a supply interruption. Where a continuous supply is important, consider that behaviour when planning the installation and your normal checks. A remote on/off command is also not a substitute for electrically isolating equipment before maintenance.
Compare with app-controlled pond equipment
If smartphone operation and a newer connected system are your priority, compare the Oase InScenio FM Master EGC Cloud. Its control features and compatible accessories differ from this radio-handset model. Make a choice around your existing devices and the type of control you will actually use; buying a more connected controller does not make every older pump or light compatible with its advanced functions.
You can also browse our pond pumps when planning the system. Check each pump’s own electrical-control instructions before pairing it with a dimmer. If you need straightforward local switching, compare a suitable outdoor switch box as a different style of installation.
Supplied equipment and ongoing care
The GB manual lists the controller, protective hood, ground stake, handheld transmitter, teach-in pin, terminal-strip cover and cable strain-relief clip. Pond pumps, lights and installation wiring are separate. Retain the manual and the equipment list with your pond records. Inspect the housing and cables during routine maintenance, isolate the supply before cleaning, and use a soft dry cloth rather than spraying water into the unit.
