Koi-PRO Air Blow 50

The Koi-PRO Air Blow 50 is a professional pond air pump developed to maintain useful output where air has to travel to deeper diffusers or be divided across several outlets. It is suited to koi ponds, moving-bed filters, quarantine systems and retail or breeding systems that need dependable continuous aeration.

Unlike a small aquarium pump, this unit is designed around higher-volume pond duty. The supplied 3/8-inch airline adaptor, rubber connector and ten-way plastic manifold make it easier to build a balanced multi-outlet system without collecting several mismatched fittings.

Key benefits

  • Nominal air-flow class: 50 L/min
  • Designed for useful output at pond depth
  • Suitable for multi-outlet aeration and biological filters
  • Supplied with 3/8-inch adaptor, rubber connector and ten-way manifold
  • Service kits are available for future maintenance

Planning a reliable aeration system

Start with diffuser depth, then allow for the length and bore of the main airline and the resistance of every air stone or disc. Keep the main run as generous as practical and reduce only at the manifold. Balance the branches so one easy outlet does not take most of the air while a deeper diffuser barely works.

Position the pump above water level in a dry, ventilated enclosure. If that is impossible, use correctly specified non-return protection and keep all connections accessible. Never place the pump in a sealed box: diaphragm air pumps create heat and need airflow around the casing.

Our practical view: For a koi pond we prefer several evenly supplied diffusers to one violently boiling air stone. The Air Blow range makes sense when the installation has depth or multiple outlets, but the airline layout still determines how much of the pump’s output reaches the water.

Frequently asked questions

Can it run a moving-bed filter?

Yes, provided the selected model supplies enough air to keep the media continuously rolling without dead areas.

Does it include airline and air stones?

The SKS listing specifies the adaptor, rubber connector and ten-way manifold. Airline and diffusers should be selected separately for the installation.

Can it run outdoors?

Use a dry, ventilated weather shelter and an appropriate protected electrical supply.

Can I close unused manifold taps?

Some outlets can be balanced or closed, but always leave sufficient open flow so the pump is not forced against excessive back pressure.

What causes a loss of air?

Check diffusers, airline leaks, the inlet filter and the service diaphragms before assuming the entire pump has failed.
