Kockney Koi Disposable Vinyl Gloves — Large, Box of 100
A box of disposable gloves is a useful addition to the pond maintenance cupboard, particularly when a job involves several separate stages. These Kockney Koi vinyl gloves are supplied in Large, with 100 individual gloves in the box. Their ambidextrous shape lets you use the same glove on either hand, so you can take the number needed without sorting through separate left and right gloves.
Kockney Koi describes this vinyl range as latex-free and powder-free. The box is a convenient option for short tasks where disposable hand coverage is appropriate. Choose the glove to suit the work, however: different treatments and cleaning products can require specific protective materials. For any chemical task, follow the product label and safety data sheet when choosing gloves and other protection.
What is supplied?
- One box containing 100 individual disposable vinyl gloves.
- Large size, as specified for Oasis catalogue code KK387.
- Ambidextrous gloves that fit either hand.
- Latex-free and powder-free material, as described by Kockney Koi.
- Manufacturer reference 000513; supplier reference KK387.
The quantity is 100 gloves, rather than 100 pairs. Using a fresh glove on both hands uses two gloves from the box. Keep this distinction in mind when buying for a busy pond maintenance routine or several people. This listing covers the Large box only; it does not offer an assorted-size pack or a reusable pair of long-arm pond gloves.
Choose the right glove for the task
For jobs around the filter area, think about the surfaces and products your hands will touch before starting. Disposable gloves can be changed between tasks, but they are not a substitute for washing your hands afterwards or for keeping equipment clean. Place the box somewhere dry and accessible, away from the part of the work area where splashes, waste or chemicals could contaminate it.
Vinyl gloves should not be selected solely because a task takes place near a pond. Check the instructions on the treatment or cleaner you intend to use. Those instructions may call for a different glove material, a particular resistance rating, eye protection or other equipment. This page does not assign an unverified chemical resistance rating to these gloves, or treat them as suitable for every pond medication, solvent cement or sealant.
Fit matters as much as quantity
Large is a size choice, rather than a promise that the gloves will fit every person. A glove needs to sit comfortably enough for the work without excessive stretching or loose material getting in the way. Put on a fresh glove before beginning and check that it is intact. If it tears while being fitted, use another glove and review whether the size is appropriate.
Keep fingernails, sharp equipment and rough edges in mind when working. Disposable vinyl is not a cut-resistant material. Avoid using a damaged glove simply because only a small area is torn. Replace gloves when they are damaged or contaminated, and follow the relevant treatment instructions on when a fresh pair is required. Do not wash a used glove and return it to the unused box.
For reaching into the pond, consider a longer glove
These disposable gloves provide hand coverage, rather than the extended sleeve of a full-arm pond glove. If your task involves reaching down into water, their length is an important difference. Choose a glove that covers the area you need to keep protected instead of expecting a disposable hand glove to keep your forearm dry.
Our Kockney Koi 69cm full-arm pond gloves are a separate product to consider for longer coverage. We also list PondXpert blue long-armed pond gloves. Compare the construction and intended use of each product with the job you have planned; a longer glove is not automatically a suitable chemical glove.
Keep clean and used equipment separate
Before opening the box, set out the tools and materials needed for the job. Keep a clear place for unused items and a separate place for anything that has become dirty. This makes it easier to avoid touching the glove box or clean tools with contaminated gloves. If you move from one task to another, assess whether fresh gloves are needed before handling the next item.
After use, remove the gloves carefully and dispose of them appropriately. Follow any disposal instructions associated with the material or treatment handled. Keep used gloves out of the pond and away from fish, wildlife and children. Wash your hands afterwards and clean any reusable equipment according to its instructions before putting it away.
Store the box ready for the next job
Kockney Koi advises dry, ventilated storage, protected from direct sunlight, fluorescent lighting, heat and moisture. The stated upper storage temperature is 40°C. A dry maintenance cupboard is more suitable than leaving an open box beside a wet filter or in a position exposed to strong sun. Keep the box protected so that the remaining gloves stay clean between jobs.
Browse our pond maintenance accessories to prepare the rest of your routine. Buying the correct gloves alongside suitable tools helps you get organised before servicing the pond, rather than interrupting the job to find something you have forgotten.
