Kockney Koi Clear Braided 8mm Airline – 30 Metre Roll
This Kockney Koi clear braided hose is supplied as a 30 metre roll for planning and replacing compatible airline runs around a pond installation. The clear hose and visible reinforcement make it easy to distinguish from ordinary thin-wall airline when organising the pipework beside your air pump. This listing is for the roll of hose; pumps, air stones, manifolds and connection fittings are separate.
Kockney Koi identifies the product as its Clear Braided 8mm Hose, manufacturer reference 003682 and barcode 5031589003682. The Oasis catalogue reference for the 30 metre clear roll is KK479. Check the size required by your equipment before cutting a length. An air-pump outlet, manifold connection and diffuser inlet do not necessarily use the same size fitting, even when all three are intended for pond aeration.

Plan the complete air route before cutting
Measure the route the hose will actually follow, including the distance around the filter, the descent into the pond and a sensible allowance for servicing. A straight measurement across the pond does not include those changes in direction. Keep joints accessible where possible, so a connection can be checked without dismantling surrounding equipment or disturbing the fish.
Allow gentle changes in direction rather than a tightly folded bend. Support the hose where it leaves the pump or manifold so its weight does not pull continuously on the outlet. Avoid trapping it beneath lids, paving or a heavy filter. Lay out the intended length before cutting, and check that there is enough room to lift and inspect any equipment you routinely service.
Match the fittings to the hose and equipment
Choose barbed fittings and retaining clips that are intended for the hose and the equipment manufacturer’s connection arrangement. Do not choose a fitting solely because its outside appearance resembles the existing one. A loose joint can leak air, while forcing an unsuitable fitting into a hose can damage the hose or the outlet it connects to.
If you are changing the number of air stones, review the air distribution at the same time. Adding more outlets does not increase the air pump’s available output. Check the pump’s instructions and the requirements of each diffuser before deciding how to divide the supply. Keep enough access around the manifold to adjust the individual branches and inspect their connections.
Choosing braided or sinking airline
Clear braided hose is a different product choice from weighted sinking airline. This listing does not describe the hose as weighted or promise that it will rest on the pond floor unaided. If keeping the underwater route down without additional support is a priority, compare our standard sinking airline and Evolution Aqua heavy-duty sinking airline.
For a dark braided alternative, see our black braided airline. That product is non-sinking; its colour does not make it a weighted hose. Compare the bore, connection requirements and quantity supplied when choosing between the products. A short length sold by the metre and a complete roll are different purchase quantities, so check what is included before comparing the total price.
Checks during installation
Isolate the relevant equipment before changing connections and follow the air pump’s installation instructions. Keep electrical connections and the pump in the position specified by the manufacturer. Where the installation requires protection against water returning through an airline, follow those requirements; replacing a length of hose does not remove the need for the original precautions.
Once the connections are secure, restart the system and stay nearby while checking each outlet. Look for trapped or sharply bent hose, loose joints and a diffuser that is not receiving its expected air supply. Check the complete route if performance is poor. A new hose cannot correct a worn pump diaphragm, an unsuitable diffuser or an incorrectly adjusted manifold.
Routine care and replacing damaged lengths
Inspect accessible hose during normal pond maintenance. Pay particular attention to connections and places where the hose touches an edge or changes direction. Replace a damaged section rather than relying on an improvised repair around a split. Keep the ends of unused hose clean and store the remainder of the roll away from sharp tools and contamination.
Label separate air lines if several pumps or manifolds serve the same filter area. A simple label identifying the destination makes later maintenance easier and helps avoid disconnecting the wrong supply. Keep a note of the hose size and fittings used so future replacement parts can be selected consistently. Check the system again after moving a filter lid, pump or other equipment that could have disturbed the route.
Other clear-airline options
Our Aqua Source clear braided airline roll is another product to compare. Check its available size against your connection requirements rather than assuming that different branded rolls are identical. Choose the airline around the equipment you have, the route it needs to follow and whether you need a weighted underwater section.
