In-Lite BRACE BAND 1m EPDM Tree Mounting Strap

This is a convenient one-metre length of original In-Lite BRACE BAND, cut from the supplier’s bulk roll for a single tree, branch or post installation. The flexible EPDM strap is designed to work with the clasp built into the In-Lite BRACE, allowing a SCOPE spotlight to be mounted without drilling into living timber.

BRACE is required

The band is not a complete light mount and does not hold a spotlight by itself. Use it only with one or more In-Lite BRACE mounting boxes. The BRACE then accepts a compatible SCOPE fitting, with RISER 1 available where the light source needs to stand farther away from the trunk or post.

Designed to accommodate tree growth

EPDM has useful elasticity and can be adjusted at the clasp as the tree grows. It still needs routine inspection: check the band at least annually, particularly on a young or fast-growing tree, and loosen or reposition it before it constricts the trunk or branch.

Plan the spotlight and cable route

Choose the SCOPE spotlight from the height and spread of the feature, then route its cable so it is protected, accessible and does not become trapped as the tree grows. BRACE is not suitable with SCOPE CEILING.

Position the beam for the feature, not the fitting

Use In-Lite BRACE BAND 1m EPDM Tree Mounting Strap to light the face and structure of the subject rather than simply aiming at its base. Move the trial position around the tree, sculpture, wall or planting after dark; a small change in distance or angle can produce more depth and much less glare. Where the source can be seen from a path or seat, a compatible shield or honeycomb accessory is usually worth considering.

For larger trees, two restrained beams from different positions generally look more natural than one fitting driven at the limit of its reach. Keep the cable and EASY-LOCK accessible so the aiming position can still be adjusted as planting matures.
