Evolution Aqua Airpump Rubber Outlet Elbow

A sound outlet connection helps the air produced by your pond air pump reach the airline and diffuser. This genuine Evolution Aqua replacement rubber elbow is listed in the Oasis catalogue as EA345. It is the small flexible air-pump outlet connector, rather than a large rubber elbow for the water pipework around a pond filter.

Use it when the existing compatible outlet elbow is damaged, split or no longer makes a sound connection. Before ordering, compare the original component and the identification on your pump. The familiar Evolution Aqua brand name alone is not enough to establish that every air fitting or filter elbow is interchangeable.

Which air pumps use this connection?

Evolution Aqua’s current Airpump range comprises the 70, 75, 95, 130 and 150 models. The manufacturer illustrates a rubber elbow as the connection between these pumps and its compatible 8mm or 10mm sinking airline. Its separate arrangement for 4mm airline uses a four-tap manifold. These are different ways of distributing air, so choose the outlet arrangement that matches the equipment you actually have.

This listing is for the replacement outlet elbow, not a pump repair kit or complete aeration system. A diaphragm, air filter, manifold, airline and diffuser each perform a different job. If your pump has stopped producing air altogether, check the pump’s fault-finding instructions before assuming that changing an external elbow will restore it.

Check the connection before replacing parts

Start with the pump’s model label and inspect the current route from its outlet to the airline. Look for a visible split, a stretched end or tubing pulling at an awkward angle. A connector can appear to be in place while leaking around one end. Check the surrounding airline as well: a cracked tube immediately beside the elbow can produce a similar loss of air.

Match the shape and connection arrangement to the original part. Do not force an unsuitable fitting over the outlet, and do not assume that a larger water-pipe coupling can be substituted. This is an air connection in a pond aeration system. It is not a stated pressure-rated water fitting, an electrical component or a general compressed-air workshop accessory.

Fitting and supporting the airline

Switch off and isolate the air pump before disturbing its connection. Follow the pump’s instructions for replacing the outlet component and securing the connection. Inspect the outlet for damage, and ensure any retaining clips used are the correct ones for the assembly. Avoid overtightening a fixing or damaging the rubber with a sharp tool.

Arrange the airline so its weight is supported without pulling continuously on the elbow. Leave enough accessible tubing to inspect and service the connection. Do not trap the air line beneath a filter lid or fold it tightly around a corner. A flattened section farther along the route can restrict airflow even when the new elbow is fitted correctly.

Keep the pump in the location and orientation required by its instructions, including the precautions against water travelling back along the airline. Replacing an elbow does not change those installation requirements. Where a non-return valve is required, use the appropriate valve in its marked direction and include it in regular maintenance checks.

Check the whole air circuit after fitting

Once the assembly is secure, restore power and observe the outlets or diffusers. Check for air escaping at the connector, unusual movement of the airline and any change in pump noise. If airflow remains weak, work through the circuit methodically: pump air filter, outlet connection, manifold settings, tubing route and diffuser condition.

Unequal bubbling does not always mean the pump is faulty. Different diffuser depths, unequal airline lengths and partially closed valves can affect the distribution. Avoid closing every outlet to test a connection, and follow the pump’s operating guidance. A replacement elbow should restore the intended connection; it cannot increase the pump’s rated output or make an unsuitable diffuser arrangement work correctly.

Related pumps, airline and service parts

For the complete equipment, compare our Evolution Aqua Airtech 70 and Evolution Aqua Airtech 95. Check their delivery at operating depth as well as their headline airflow. If the fault is inside an existing pump, our Evolution Aqua diaphragm kits are a separate service-parts option; select the kit for the precise model rather than choosing by the appearance of the diaphragm alone.

For tubing that stays on the pond floor, see our standard sinking airline and Evolution Aqua heavy-duty sinking airline. Confirm the bore and fittings for the intended route before ordering. Black colour by itself does not mean a hose sinks: our black braided airline is non-sinking and should be selected on that basis.

Ordering the correct spare

Choose this product for a compatible Evolution Aqua air-pump rubber outlet elbow. Keep the pump’s instructions and identification label available when planning a repair. The complete pump, additional airline, distribution manifold and air stones are separate products. Check all the parts needed before dismantling a working installation so that the air supply can be restored promptly after maintenance.
