BIO-UV NEO-25 Professional Pond UVC

The BIO-UV NEO-25 is a professional high-output UV-C reactor for koi ponds, natural swimming pools and demanding recirculating water systems. Its large PVC chamber and 75mm connection format are intended to treat substantial flow without squeezing the circuit through small hose tails.

This model uses 1 × 105W high-output lamp and is rated for a maximum flow of 25 m³/h. The distinction between lamp electrical rating, absorbed power and useful UV-C output is shown clearly below so the unit can be compared properly rather than by a single marketing wattage.

Professional reactor design

  • Large-bore 75mm solvent-weld connections
  • High-output UV-C lamp
  • Up to 3 bar stated operating pressure
  • 13,000-hour stated lamp life
  • IP54 control equipment
  • Metric 75/63mm and 75/50mm reduction fittings
  • Three-metre cable between cabinet and reactor

Sizing and installing the reactor

Select the flow from the intended UV dose, not only the maximum hydraulic capacity. Clarifying green water, controlling microbial pressure in a koi pond and treating a swimming-pond circuit can require different exposure. Clean, well-filtered water allows UV-C to penetrate more effectively.

Provide isolation and unions, keep the electrical cabinet in its permitted environment and leave at least the full lamp-and-sleeve service length clear. The reactor must be full of water and correctly vented before the lamp is energised. Never look directly at an exposed operating UV-C lamp.

Our practical view: The large connections are a real benefit only if the rest of the plant room preserves the bore. Reducing immediately into small hose wastes the low-resistance design and can leave a high-value UV working on far less water than expected.

Frequently asked questions

Is the maximum flow the correct flow for every pond?

No. Maximum hydraulic flow is not the same as the flow needed for a particular UV dose. Use the BIO-UV sizing guidance for the application.

How long does the lamp last?

The stated service life is 13,000 hours, but output and sleeve condition should be checked as part of planned maintenance.

Why are absorbed power and UV output different?

The lamp and control gear consume electrical power; only part is emitted as useful UV-C radiation.

Can it be installed outside?

Follow the IP rating and current manual for the cabinet and reactor. Do not expose electrical connections to flooding or uncontrolled weather.

Does it remove dead algae?

No. The filtration system must capture particles after UV-C causes suspended algae to clump or stop reproducing.
