The BIO-UV NEO-12 is a professional high-output UV reactor for koi ponds, ornamental ponds and demanding water-treatment circuits. A single 55W high-output lamp sits inside a pressure-rated PVC reactor, with a separate IP54 electrical cabinet and generous 75mm solvent-weld connections.
BIO-UV specifies a maximum flow of 12m³/h after allowing for hydraulic losses. That makes the NEO-12 very different from a small in-pond clarifier: it is intended to be integrated into properly designed pipework with the flow, UV dose and service access considered together.

Flow is part of UV performance
Water needs sufficient exposure to the lamp to achieve the intended treatment. Do not simply connect the largest possible pump. Calculate the real flow through the UV after pipe resistance and other equipment, and use a bypass where adjustment or service isolation is required.
Installation and maintenance
The reactor is approximately 773mm long, 371mm deep and 311mm wide. Allow additional clearance to withdraw the lamp and quartz sleeve. Isolate both water and electricity before servicing, clean the quartz carefully and avoid touching the replacement lamp glass with bare fingers.

Frequently asked questions
Will the NEO-12 replace my pond filter?
No. It treats water passing through the UV but does not remove fish waste or provide biological filtration.
Can it run at more than 12m³/h?
The official NEO-12 manual gives 12m³/h as the maximum after hydraulic losses. Exceeding the intended flow reduces exposure.
How often is the lamp replaced?
Use the 13,000-hour manufacturer rating and maintenance record rather than waiting for the lamp to fail visibly; useful UV output declines before visible light disappears.
Can it be installed outside?
Follow the current manual, electrical regulations and enclosure requirements. The control cabinet is rated IP54 but still needs a suitable safe installation location.
