Aqua Source 3/8″ BSP Male Elbow – 12mm Air
Right-Angle Threaded Connector for 12mm Pond Air Lines
The Aqua Source 3/8″ BSP Male Elbow – 12mm Air is a compact right-angle adaptor designed to connect compatible 12mm flexible air hose to pond equipment featuring a suitable 3/8″ BSP female threaded connection. By combining a male threaded connection, a 12mm hose connection, and an angled configuration in one fitting, it provides a convenient way to direct an air line away from pumps, manifolds, valves, diffusers, and other compatible aeration components.
Pond aeration systems often contain equipment with threaded outlets positioned close to walls, filters, pipework, cabinets, or other components. Attaching a straight hose adaptor in these areas can sometimes create an awkward connection or require the air hose to form a large curve before it can be routed in the required direction. This male elbow changes the direction of the connection at the fitting, helping the attached hose follow a neater and more controlled route.
The 3/8″ BSP male threaded end is intended to connect to a correctly sized female threaded port. The opposite end accepts compatible 12mm air hose, creating a transition between threaded pond equipment and flexible air tubing. Once correctly installed, the fitting provides a continuous angled route through which air can travel from the connected equipment into the air line.
Its elbow configuration is particularly useful in filter houses, pump rooms, equipment cabinets, and compact pond installations where available space is limited. It can help route the air hose around corners, away from nearby equipment, alongside walls, or towards a diffuser, air stone, aerated bottom drain, manifold, or another part of the pond’s air-distribution system.
Using an angled threaded fitting may also help reduce the need to force the flexible hose into a tight bend immediately after the equipment connection. This can produce a tidier installation and make it easier to position the hose without creating excessive loops or allowing it to interfere with surrounding components.
The fitting can be incorporated into a completely new pond aeration system or used while modifying an existing installation. It is suitable for repositioning an air pump, reorganising equipment, replacing an old connector, extending an air-distribution layout, or creating a more practical connection in a confined area.
It may also be combined with other compatible 12mm air fittings, such as straight connectors, tees, elbows, valves, studs, and manifolds. Together, these components allow pond owners and professional installers to construct an air-line arrangement that suits the location of the equipment and the individual requirements of the pond.
Whether it is being used to connect a 12mm air line to a threaded manifold, redirect hose from an equipment outlet, or create a cleaner connection inside a filtration area, the Aqua Source 3/8″ BSP Male Elbow – 12mm Air offers a practical solution for pond and aquatic aeration installations.

How It Works
The 3/8″ BSP male threaded end is carefully screwed into a compatible female threaded port on the relevant air-system component.
A suitable section of 12mm flexible air hose is then connected securely to the hose end of the elbow.
Once installed, air passes from the threaded equipment connection, through the angled internal route of the fitting, and into the attached hose. The hose then carries the airflow towards the next component in the aeration system.
The elbow allows the air line to leave the threaded connection at an angle rather than continuing straight outward. This can make it easier to route the hose around equipment, through filtration areas, or towards the pond.
Before installation, confirm that both the thread and hose measurements are compatible. Begin threading the fitting carefully to avoid cross-threading and do not overtighten it.
Appropriate thread-sealing material or hose-securing components may be required according to the connected equipment and installation requirements.
