The Air-Aqua BIO-Rotator Compact-M combines a 70-micron automatic drum screen with a continuously rotating biological stage. Mechanical waste is rinsed away before it can break down, while the rotating Hel-X 17 chamber repeatedly exposes the biofilm to pond water and oxygen.

This is a complete high-end filter system, not simply a drum with an empty chamber. The listed package includes the lid, control electronics and the stated Hel-X 17 media allocation; the Doppio’s additional external biological chamber should be checked separately for its included media.

Confirm gravity or pump-fed water levels, number and size of inlets, rinse-water supply, waste fall, electrical load and overflow route from the current drawing. Set the filter on a rigid, completely level base and make the chamber removable without cutting finished pipework.

Maximum flow is not an automatic operating target. The pond turnover, bottom-drain velocity, residence in the biological stage and safe water-level drop through a dirty screen all need to agree. Provide a bypass or contingency plan for maintenance.

Our practical view: At this price, the drawing should be final before the filter arrives. We would mark the operating waterline, pipe centres, lid swing, waste fall and removal route on the plant-room wall, then check every one against the current Air-Aqua manual.
