Pro Line Aqua Koi Treats Mix

Fly larvae, silkworm pupae and river shrimp in 400g and 800g tubs

Pro Line Aqua Koi Treats Mix brings three named natural ingredients into one container: fly larvae, silkworm pupae and river shrimp. The combination offers different shapes and textures for supplementary feeding alongside your koi’s usual food. Keep a tub beside your normal feeding supplies when you want to offer variety, with a choice of two pack sizes to suit how often you give treats.

Choose 400g in a 2.5-litre tub or 800g in a 5-litre tub. The options on this page use the net food weight. Litres describe the container volume, so 2.5 litres does not mean 2.5kg of treats. Selecting a size changes the quantity purchased, not the named ingredients of the mix.

Pack weights and container sizes

Choose by net weight Stated tub volume Pack size
400g 2.5 litres Smaller tub
800g 5 litres Larger tub

The larger tub contains twice the net weight of the smaller one. Compare the selected prices by weight when assessing value, then consider your actual use. The 400g pack can suit occasional treat feeding or a first purchase, while the 800g pack provides a larger supply for an established routine. Choose an amount you expect to use within the supplied storage and best-before guidance.

A tub’s volume is useful for recognising the packaging, but net weight is the clearer basis for comparing the quantity of food. Different natural ingredients occupy space differently, so matching the litre size of this tub to another treat does not establish that both contain the same weight.

What is in the mix?

Fly larvae, silkworm pupae and river shrimp give this mix its three-ingredient combination. For a single-ingredient alternative, browse our Pro Line Aqua Black Soldier Fly or Silkworm Pupae. A mixture offers variety in a single container; an individual treat lets you choose that named ingredient separately.

The ingredients are natural pieces rather than uniform manufactured pellets. Check the pieces in the portion you offer and consider the size of the fish receiving them. Choose the tub by the amount of food you need and inspect each small serving as you prepare it. This is especially useful in ponds containing koi of noticeably different sizes.

Choosing between the two tubs

The 400g tub is a useful starting point if mixed treats are new to your pond. It provides a smaller quantity to work into the feeding routine while you find out how readily your koi take the different pieces. Consider how many fish you have, how frequently you offer treats and how much suitable dry storage space is available.

The 800g tub contains twice as much food for ponds where treats already have a regular place in the routine. Keep the serving size suited to the fish even when a larger supply is available. When choosing, use the selected pack price and net weight together; divide the price by four or eight respectively to compare the cost per 100g.

Offering a mixed treat

Follow the seasonal and preparation instructions on the supplied tub. Offer a modest portion while your koi are actively feeding and remain beside the pond to observe the response. Introduce the mix gradually into the routine, so that you can see whether the fish take the different pieces and whether the amount offered is appropriate.

Watch which fish reach the food. The most confident koi can dominate an offering, while smaller or quieter fish may need more opportunity to feed. Check that the pieces suit the intended fish before adding more. Remove uneaten food and reduce the next portion if pieces remain; additional treats should not be used to compensate for a loss of appetite.

Include treats within the day’s feeding plan instead of repeatedly adding them on top of an unchanged ration. If several people feed the pond, agree who is offering the treat portion and when. That makes it easier to connect the amount supplied with what the fish actually eat.

Pairing treats with the normal food

For the pellet part of the routine, compare Pro Line Aqua Growth and Top Color, using each formula’s own feeding guidance. The separate Wheatgerm 15kg, 3mm food has cooler-season positioning. Choose the everyday food to suit your pond’s conditions and follow the feeding directions for each food you use.

Storage and keeping the label

Close the tub securely between feeds and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use clean, dry hands or a dry scoop and avoid splashing pond water into the container. Follow the supplied best-before and storage directions. If some food is moved into a smaller container, keep its identity and instructions with it so that it cannot be confused with a different treat.
