Oase LunAqua 10 Connecting Cables
Choose a connecting cable for an existing Oase LunAqua 10 lighting system. These leads are offered in 2.5m, 5m and 7.5m lengths, allowing you to select the reach needed between compatible equipment. They are system-specific cables, so start with the lighting model and connection type before choosing a length. They are not ordinary extension leads for a mains socket.
The original Oase catalogue identifies these options as Connecting Cable /01: 50402 for 2.5m, 50403 for 5m and 50404 for 7.5m. It places them alongside the LunAqua 10 Halogen, LunAqua 10 LED /01 and UST 150 /01 transformer. Check the documentation for your own equipment and compare both connectors before ordering, particularly when replacing a cable in an older installation.
Available lengths and cable specification
| Length | Oase reference | Cable cross-section |
|---|---|---|
| 2.5m | 50402 | 1.5mm² |
| 5m | 50403 | 1.5mm² |
| 7.5m | 50404 | 2.5mm² |
Those figures are from Oase’s specification for the original range. The cross-section describes the cable construction; it is not the light’s wattage or a permission to connect equipment from a different system. Select the option by its reference as well as its stated length. The product is a cable only, without a spotlight, transformer, bulb or lighting controller.
LunAqua 10 and LunAqua Connect are different ranges
Several Oase lighting families share the LunAqua name. A lead described as a LunAqua Connect White or RGB extension is not the same item as a LunAqua 10 Connecting Cable /01. Similar names and a matching length are not enough to establish compatibility. Avoid choosing a replacement solely from a photograph of a coiled black cable.
If you are starting a new lighting installation, compare a complete system such as the Oase LunAqua Connect S Set 3 White or LunAqua Connect M Set 3 White. Those are alternatives to consider as complete lighting systems; this older LunAqua 10 cable is not presented as an accessory for either set.
Measure the actual cable route
Measure where the lead will run rather than drawing a straight line between the two pieces of equipment. Take account of the pond edge, planting, rocks and any route around a waterfall. Allow enough reach to position the light and access its connections without pulling the cable tight. Keep the route clear of equipment that needs to move or be lifted during maintenance.
A longer cable can be useful when the light position is further from the transformer, but unnecessary extra length can make an installation harder to keep tidy. Do not assume that purchasing several leads allows unlimited extensions. Any overall cable-length or connection limits must come from the manual for the system being used.
Checks before fitting a replacement
Record the model information from the spotlight, transformer and old lead where it is available. Compare the plugs and any fastening arrangement, and inspect the connection points for damage. Keep the equipment instructions with those details so that you can confirm the intended replacement before disturbing the installation.
Isolate the lighting system from its power supply before handling connections, following the manufacturer’s instructions. A compatible low-voltage lead is part of an electrical system even though it is not a mains extension. Do not adapt its connector, remove a fastening or splice it to make it fit unrelated equipment. Use the complete matching replacement specified for the installation.
Positioning the cable around the pond
Plan a route that keeps the lead free from sharp edges, trapped sections and areas where it could be pulled during garden work. Leave the connection points accessible for inspection and keep track of which lead serves each light. This makes later maintenance easier, especially where several spotlights share one system.
Follow the equipment’s own instructions for positioning connections above or below water. A protection rating stated for a spotlight is not automatically a rating for every cable, coupling or transformer attached to it. Check the requirements for each component and do not treat a connector that looks similar as proof of the same underwater specification.
When a lighting fault needs more than a cable
A light that fails to operate may have a fault in its lamp, power supply, connector or cable. Check the manufacturer’s troubleshooting sequence before buying parts. Note whether one light or the whole installation is affected, and retain the equipment references. A replacement lead addresses a faulty compatible lead; it does not repair an unrelated transformer or lamp problem.
For a wider lighting replacement, you can also compare our Oase LunAqua Power LED Set 3. Its accessories belong to that separate system. The LunAqua Power LED Cable 10m is another distinct product, rather than a longer version of the Connecting Cable /01 offered here.
Ordering the right option
Select the required length, check its Oase reference and confirm that the equipment instructions call for this cable family. Order one lead for each connection you need to replace. Keep the packaging reference for future maintenance, and check the new part against the original before fitting it to the lighting system.
