Oase FiltoClear 19000 Complete Filter Pump UV Kit
This complete Oase FiltoClear package combines the pressure filter, the UVC built into its lid and a carefully chosen AquaMax Eco Classic pump. It is intended for pond owners who want a neat, dependable filtration system without paying for hose and fittings that may be the wrong size or length for their garden.
This middle package gives more circulation and a 42 watt UVC without moving to the size and cost of the largest model. It is often the balanced choice for an established garden pond with a mixed fish stock and a modest waterfall return.
Complete kit saving: The package costs £657.99, saving £34.54 against buying the filter and pump separately at their current individual prices.
What is included in this filter, pump and UV kit?
- 1 × Oase FiltoClear 19000 pressure filter with an integrated 42 watt UVC
- 1 × Oase AquaMax Eco Classic 8500 pond pump
The FiltoClear deals with suspended dirt, biological waste and green water inside one sealed pressure vessel. The AquaMax Eco Classic moves debris-laden pond water to the filter and can handle particles up to 8mm. Together they provide the three essentials most garden ponds need: circulation, filtration and UVC clarification.
Why these two Oase products work well together
The FiltoClear 19000 pressure filter
Inside the filter, different foam densities trap visible dirt and provide a large wetted surface for beneficial bacteria. The integrated 42 watt UVC exposes free-floating algae to ultraviolet light before the water continues through the filter. Because the vessel remains pressurised, the clean-water outlet can feed a raised return or modest waterfall rather than having to fall straight back to the pond.
Oase bypass technology directs water through the filter while helping to maintain flow as the foams collect dirt. The Easy-Clean handle and selector allow the foams to be compressed and dirty water to be sent to waste without dismantling the complete filter during every routine clean.
The AquaMax Eco Classic 8500 filter pump
The included pump has a nominal maximum output of 8,300 litres per hour and a maximum head of 3.2 metres. Its output will reduce once lift, hose length, bends and the filter itself are added. This is normal. The pairing leaves useful capacity for a practical pond installation while remaining below the FiltoClear’s stated maximum flow of 13,000 litres per hour.
The pump can be installed submerged or dry mounted in accordance with the Oase instructions. Environmental Function Control helps protect it if it runs dry or becomes blocked, and the large pre-filter cage allows normal pond debris to reach the filter rather than clogging a fine intake sponge.
Which ponds suit the FiltoClear 19000 kit?
Oase publishes three pond-volume ratings because an ornamental pond without fish places far less demand on a filter than a heavily fed koi pond. The headline values for this filter are:
- Up to 19,000 litres for an ornamental pond without fish
- Up to 10,000 litres for a pond with fish
- Up to 5,000 litres for a koi pond
The 8,300 L/h pump offers useful circulation for this size of pressure filter. The actual delivered flow will depend on the height and restriction of the return, so use generous hose and avoid unnecessary bends.
These figures are maximum manufacturer ratings, not a promise that every pond of that volume will perform identically. Direct sun, shallow warm water, heavy feeding, large koi, leaf fall and a long waterfall all increase the demand on the system. If the pond sits close to one of the limits, choosing the next size up normally gives a better margin and longer intervals between cleaning.
How the complete filtration process works
- Collection: The AquaMax pump draws water and suspended debris from the pond.
- UVC clarification: The built-in UVC treats single-celled algae that cause green water.
- Mechanical filtration: The filter foams trap suspended solids so they can be flushed to waste.
- Biological filtration: Beneficial bacteria on the media convert ammonia and nitrite as the filter matures.
- Pressurised return: Filtered water can return at pond level or continue uphill to a suitable watercourse or waterfall.
The UVC is designed to help with green water. It does not remove blanket weed attached to pond surfaces, and it does not replace mature biological filtration. A newly installed filter still needs time to develop its bacterial population.
Plan the hose and return before ordering
Hose, clips and site-specific fittings are deliberately not included. The best diameter and length depend on the distance from pump to filter, the height of the return and whether the system feeds a waterfall. Use the largest practical connection size, keep the route smooth and avoid unnecessary reducers because every restriction reduces the real flow reaching the filter.
- Choose heavy duty flexible pond hose to suit the route and connections
- Secure every hosetail with correctly sized stainless steel hose clips
- Keep the pump accessible so the cage and rotor can be cleaned
- Keep the FiltoClear control head, selector and cleaning handle above ground and easy to reach
- Route the cleaning outlet to a safe drain or garden area where waste water cannot return to the pond
- Use RCD-protected electrical supplies and follow the installation instructions for both products
Optional fitting pack: The product options include a set of three Oase stepped hose tails for the filter inlet, clean-water return and waste connection. Compatible quartz sleeves and UVC lamps are also available as useful service spares.

Cleaning and long-term care
Flush the FiltoClear before trapped waste badly restricts the flow. In summer, after blanket weed treatment or during leaf fall, that may be much more often than in winter. Use the cleaning mechanism to compress the foams and discharge dirty water, then return the selector to normal filtration before restarting the system.
Clean the UVC quartz sleeve, replace the lamp at the recommended service interval and inspect the pump cage and rotor. During the first weeks of use, and after any major clean, check ammonia and nitrite while the biological stage matures. A stocked pond also benefits from separate aeration, particularly in warm weather.

Common questions before buying
Does the kit include both the pump and UVC?
Yes. The AquaMax Eco Classic pump is included and the UVC is built into the FiltoClear lid. Hose and site-specific fittings are selected separately.
Can the return feed a waterfall?
Yes, within the pressure and flow available after the real lift and pipe losses are allowed for. A high or restrictive waterfall may require a different pump choice.
Can the filter be buried?
The pressure vessel can be partly buried as shown in the Oase instructions, but the lid, controls and service points must remain accessible.
