Burtons Wheatgerm Food

Burtons Wheatgerm Food

6 mm floating wheatgerm pellets with 37% protein

Burtons Wheatgerm is a 6 mm floating food positioned for cooler conditions as well as use through suitable parts of the year. Its published analysis is 37% protein and 6% fat. This is useful when comparing wheatgerm foods: the name does not guarantee a low protein percentage, and different brands have different formulas.

Pack choice and feeding

This listing offers 12kg, 5kg packs. Use the selector to check the current price and availability for the required option. Choose a pack that you can use while the food is fresh.

Burtons gives an 8–10°C threshold range in its feeding guidance. Check the current pack directions and the fish’s response as water cools, and offer smaller portions rather than carrying a summer ration into colder conditions. Stop adding food if it is not being eaten.

Keeping food fresh and monitoring the pond

Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Use a clean, dry scoop and keep pond water out of the food. Check water quality when increasing feed or changing the feeding routine, and respond to uneaten food rather than following a fixed scoop count regardless of conditions.
