What is the difference between the 30W, 75W and 110W units?

Is the 75W T5 lamp the same as a 75W amalgam lamp?
No. Lamp technology, size, ballast and connection must match the exact unit. Order spares by model, not wattage alone.
Will the 110W model clear water faster?
Only if it is correctly matched to the flow and problem. More wattage does not fix poor filtration or water bypassing the UVC.
Can these units be used on a gravity-fed system?

How do I know whether the quartz sleeve is dirty?

What does a pond UVC actually do?

Will a UVC remove blanket weed?
No. Blanket weed is attached to surfaces and does not pass through the chamber in the same way as suspended green-water algae.
Why does flow rate matter through a UVC?

How often should I replace the lamp?
Use the manufacturer’s service interval. A lamp can still glow visibly after useful UVC output has fallen.
Why clean the quartz sleeve?
Limescale and dirt block UV transmission. A clean lamp behind a dirty quartz sleeve will still underperform.
Can I look at the lamp to see whether it works?
Never view an energised UVC lamp outside its closed housing. Use the safe indicator and isolation procedure specified for the unit.
Can the UVC be installed after the filter?
Some systems allow this and others specify a different order. Follow the hydraulic layout and maximum-pressure guidance for the exact equipment.
