Waterlife Myxazin P Antibacterial Pond Treatment
Targeted antibacterial support for fin damage, ulcers and external infection
Myxazin P is Waterlife’s broad-spectrum pond bactericide. The manufacturer lists fin rot, body rot, ulcers, wounds, abrasions, sores, raised veins, blood streaks, redness, pop eye and cloudy eye among its intended uses. Many bacterial problems are secondary to injury, parasites or poor water, so the cause still needs attention while the infection is treated.
Use Myxazin P when the signs fit an external bacterial problem rather than whitespot, flukes or crustacean parasites. The current Oasis supplier range contains 500ml and 1 litre bottles, covering a five-day course for 3,240 and 6,480 litres respectively.
What this Waterlife treatment is for
- Broad-spectrum pond bactericide for the conditions named by Waterlife.
- Targets fin rot, body rot, ulcers, wounds and related external bacterial signs.
- Five-day course in two supplier-stocked sizes.
- Can be used as part of a quarantine or new-fish risk-management plan only as directed by the manufacturer.
- Stated to be safe with pond fish, plants and biological filtration when used correctly.
Check the pond before treating
Start by testing ammonia, nitrite, pH and, where relevant, KH. Poor water quality can cause lethargy, flashing, excess mucus, sore skin and secondary infection, so adding medication without checking the water can hide the real cause. Work out the actual pond volume after allowing for shelves, rockwork, pipework and filter chambers; a guessed volume can lead to under-dosing or over-dosing.
Follow the five-day course printed on the current bottle. Maintain excellent oxygen, keep the affected fish under close observation and address water quality or physical damage at the same time. Deep ulcers, systemic signs or repeated outbreaks need experienced fish-health advice rather than repeated blind courses.
- Do not use with another fish medication at the same time unless Waterlife specifically permits it.
- Remove activated carbon, zeolite and other chemical-adsorption media if the current label instructs you to do so.
- Follow the current label regarding UV clarifiers and ozone during the treatment course.
- Do not use a preventative dose simply to compensate for poor water quality or an unconfirmed diagnosis.
Read the current container label before every use because formulations, directions and regulatory wording can change. Do not mix remedies unless the manufacturer explicitly says they are compatible. Keep strong aeration running, watch the fish during treatment and obtain specialist advice when the diagnosis is uncertain or fish are severely distressed.
Available sizes and stated coverage
| Pack size | Manufacturer’s stated coverage | Supplier code |
|---|---|---|
| 500ml | 5-day course for 3,240 litres | WR227 |
| 1 Litre | 5-day course for 6,480 litres | WR339 |
Use it as part of a complete pond-care plan
For protozoan and fungal problems, see Medizin P. For flukes, compare Sterazin P. Browse all fish-health and disease treatments.
A treatment can correct a specific problem, but long-term results still depend on appropriate filtration, circulation, oxygen, stocking and feeding. Remove decaying waste, clean mechanical filtration sensibly and retest the water after the course instead of repeatedly adding products by appearance alone.

Waterlife lists fin rot, body rot, ulcers, wounds, abrasions, sores, raised veins, redness, pop eye and cloudy eye among its intended uses.
Will it repair the cause of an ulcer?
It targets bacterial infection, but poor water, parasites, injury and stress still need to be identified and corrected.

Can I use it with salt or another medicine?
Check the current label and obtain manufacturer advice. Do not assume separate treatments are compatible.
