Taking a useful reading
Use a fresh sample and follow the instrument’s own instructions for filling, zeroing, mixing and reaction time. Keep the outside of the cuvette clean and dry, remove fingerprints and check for bubbles before inserting it.
Record the date, result and units so later readings can be compared properly. The display resolution is the size of the numerical step; the accuracy statement describes a different part of the measurement. A digital display still depends on using the correct method.
Matching reagents and check standards
For routine sample tests, choose HI700-25 reagents. To check the instrument against a reference, see the separate HI700-11 check set. The two products do different jobs.
Check the supplied starter contents separately from the refill pack. Keep reagents in their specified storage conditions and use the expiry and lot information on the packaging.
Use the HI700-11 check set’s own instructions and Certificate of Analysis for the reference value, conditions and expiry. Keep its sealed references as instructed.
