Disconnect the pump from the mains, remove it from the pond edge and work in a clean, dry area. Note the position of every hose and valve before dismantling. Also clean the air inlet and check the airline and diffusers. A blocked diffuser can create the same symptoms as a tired membrane and can quickly damage the new part by making the pump work against excessive pressure.
