The 400AS foam-fractionating protein skimmer is professional water-treatment equipment for large koi ponds and specialist recirculating systems. It separates dissolved and very fine organic compounds by concentrating them into a removable foam. This is not a plug-and-play consumer treatment: correct hydraulic sizing, ozone control, off-gas handling and residual-ozone destruction are essential.
Ozone is a powerful oxidiser. A well-designed system can improve water clarity and reduce dissolved organic load, but an uncontrolled dose can injure fish, damage equipment and expose people to harmful gas. The complete installation should be designed and commissioned by someone experienced with aquatic ozone systems.

System design and safety
Work from the real water flow and intended ozone dose. Check injector suction, contact time, pressure, material compatibility and the route through degassing or activated carbon before any water reaches fish. Install an ORP control strategy only with appropriate limits and independent safety measures.
Place the equipment in a ventilated plant room, keep electrical controls dry and make every vessel, seal and drain accessible. Never breathe ozone gas or allow an ozone-rich water stream to discharge directly into an occupied pond.
Our practical view: This is a product we would discuss before dispatch. A sketch showing pump flow, injector, reactor, skimmer, off-gas treatment and return point is far more useful than choosing by vessel diameter alone.

Is ozone safe for fish?
Only when generated, mixed, reacted and removed in a correctly controlled system. Free ozone must not reach the pond.
Do I need an ORP controller?
Professional systems commonly use ORP monitoring, but a controller is not the only safety measure and must be correctly configured.

Provide suitable ventilation and off-gas destruction; never allow ozone to accumulate in an occupied space.
