Oase Aquarius Universal Premium Pumps
Oase Aquarius Universal Premium Water Feature Pumps
Quiet clear-water pumps for fountains, statues, waterfalls and decorative features
The Oase Aquarius Universal Premium range is a dependable choice when a water feature needs more pressure and build quality than a tiny feature pump, but does not need the scale or smart controls of an Aquarius Eco Expert. We use this family for larger statues, spring stones, clear-water fountain displays and modern waterfalls where smooth, quiet operation matters.
There are six models on this page: Eco 3000, Eco 4000, 5000, 6000, 9000 and 12000. Together they cover maximum flows from 3,000 to 12,000 litres per hour and maximum heads from 3.2 to 7 metres.
What you are paying for in the Universal Premium range
These pumps are designed to run extremely quietly, with a stainless steel intake strainer and the ability to draw from relatively shallow water. Oase lists them for either submerged or dry installation, which makes them useful in a conventional pond or in a separate pump chamber. The water volume can be adjusted mechanically, so a correctly sized pump can be trimmed to the finished feature without adding a complicated control system.
The intake can deal with coarse particles up to 4 mm, but this is still a clear-water feature-pump family. It is not the range we would choose to pull heavy pond waste into a biological filter. Oase also rates the pumps as frost-resistant down to -20°C when correctly installed, though exposed plumbing and shallow reservoirs still need protection.
Choose from delivered height, not just litres per hour
The Eco 3000 can move up to 3,000 litres per hour with a 3.2 metre maximum head; the 4000 reaches 4,000 litres and 3.4 metres; the 5000 reaches 5,000 litres and 4.5 metres; the 6000 reaches 6,000 litres and 5 metres; the 9000 reaches 9,000 litres and 6 metres; and the 12000 reaches 12,000 litres and 7 metres. None of those pumps produces its maximum flow at its maximum head. We match the operating curve to the actual lift and restriction, then leave enough adjustment for commissioning.
Which Aquarius Universal Premium Pump Should You Choose?
Eco 3000 and Eco 4000: compact features and spring stones
The Eco 3000 and Eco 4000 are the neatest options for smaller clear-water displays. They suit spring stones, statues and modest outlets where compact size, quiet running and low-water suction are more useful than very high flow.
5000 and 6000: the versatile middle of the range
The 5000 and 6000 provide a useful step up for wider blades, taller ornaments and features with a longer pipe run. The jump in head capability is often more important than the extra thousand litres on the label.
9000 and 12000: larger displays and demanding pipe runs
The 9000 and 12000 are the strongest Universal Premium models listed here. They make sense when the display is physically larger or the route to it creates more resistance. For a truly large, animated or centrally controlled fountain, we would also compare the Aquarius Eco Expert family rather than automatically selecting the 12000.
Submerged or dry installation
Submerged installation is simple and keeps the pump naturally flooded. Dry installation can make servicing easier and hide the pump from view, but the suction line must be airtight and correctly arranged. We also plan unions and isolation valves so the pump can be removed without draining the whole reservoir.
Independent help from people who work with pond equipment
We are happy to sell you a pump online, but we would much rather help you avoid buying the wrong one. Send us a photograph or sketch of the feature, together with the lift, pipe length and outlet size. We can then tell you whether a Universal Premium model is the right family and which end of the range deserves a closer look.

Oase Aquarius Universal Premium FAQs
What are Oase Aquarius Universal Premium pumps designed for?
They are clear-water feature pumps for fountains, statues, spring stones, decorative waterfalls and similar indoor or outdoor water displays.
Which models are available on this page?
The listed range is Eco 3000, Eco 4000, 5000, 6000, 9000 and 12000.
Can Aquarius Universal Premium pumps run a pond filter?
They are designed as clear-water feature pumps. For routine solids handling and pond filtration, compare a purpose-made filter pump.
Can these pumps draw from shallow water?
Yes. Low-water suction is one of the practical strengths of this range, provided the intake remains correctly flooded and within the product instructions.
Can the flow be adjusted?
The range provides mechanical water-volume adjustment, which is useful for fine-tuning a correctly sized display.
Can I use an Aquarius Universal Premium in a swimming pond?
No. Oase’s operating instructions for this family exclude swimming ponds. Use equipment specifically approved for that application.
What size debris can the intake pass?
Oase states that the stainless steel intake strainer can pass coarse particles up to 4 mm.
What information do you need to select a model?
We need the outlet or nozzle, required height or sheet, vertical lift, pipe length, internal pipe diameter and number of restrictive fittings.
When should I choose Aquarius Eco Expert instead?
Compare Eco Expert when the display needs substantially higher flow, greater control, dynamic patterns or integration with Oase Control.
Why is the flow at my feature lower than the number on the pump?
The headline flow is measured at very little resistance. Height, pipe length, bends, valves and the nozzle all reduce the flow that reaches the outlet.
Should I deliberately buy a much larger pump?
For Oase Aquarius Universal Premium Pumps, a little adjustment margin is useful, but excessive oversizing wastes energy and can make the display difficult to control. We size from the pump curve and the finished pipe run.
Does pipe diameter really make much difference?
Yes. Undersized pipe can throw away a surprising amount of a pump’s performance, especially on longer runs or higher-flow installations.
Can I restrict the flow with a valve?
A valve can trim some installations, but an approved variable-speed or electronic control is usually the neater option when the pump supports it.
Can the pump be installed dry?
Only models explicitly approved for dry installation should be used that way, and the suction arrangement must remain flooded and airtight.
What should I clean on a water-feature pump?
Keep the intake, rotor area and any pre-filter clear. A gradual loss of display height is often the first sign that the intake or pipework needs attention.
Can a fountain pump run all winter?
Follow the model instructions. Some Oase ranges are frost-resistant when left submerged, but exposed pipework, nozzles and shallow features still need sensible winter planning.
Can you help me choose between two models?
Yes. Send us the required display, lift height, pipe length and pipe size. Those details are far more useful than pond volume alone.
