AquaForte Air Pump Flow V-10 SET (with line / stones)
The AquaForte V-10 complete set is a compact diaphragm pond air pump built around an aluminium-alloy casing and a double air chamber. It is intended for continuous aeration of ponds, quarantine systems and biological filters where quiet operation and useful pressure at depth matter more than an inflated free-air figure.
The model name refers to a nominal free-flow class of 10 L/min; the more useful figures are approximately 4 L/min at 1.2 metres water depth and — at 2 metres. That difference is important when choosing a pump for bottom diffusers rather than a shallow air stone.
Why the V-10 complete set is useful
- Double air-chamber design for steadier output
- Durable aluminium-alloy housing
- Low stated sound level of under 35 dB
- Modest 10 W power consumption for continuous use
- Replaceable membranes and air chambers rather than a disposable sealed pump
- This complete set adds the matching manifold, 4 × 6mm airline and 50mm air stones. The V-10 and V-20 sets are supplied for four outlets; the V-60 set is supplied for ten outlets and includes the longer airline allocation.

Choosing airline and diffusers
Air output falls as water depth, airline length and diffuser resistance increase. Choose the pump from the working-depth figure, split the air through a correctly sized manifold and avoid forcing every branch through unnecessarily small or very long airline. A non-return valve can help protect an installation where water could siphon back towards a pump that is below pond level, although positioning the pump above water level in a dry, ventilated shelter is preferable.
Aim for even bubbling rather than one aggressively driven stone. If several diffusers are used, balance them at the manifold and check that each remains clear. Diffusers gradually clog and membranes are wear parts, so falling output is not always a reason to replace the entire pump.
Our practical view: For this model we would plan around the 4 L/min figure at 1.2m depth, not simply the 10 L/min badge. Keep the pump dry with free ventilation, leave space to service the inlet and diaphragms, and never throttle every outlet shut while the pump is running.
Frequently asked questions
Can the pump sit outdoors?
It needs a dry, ventilated, weather-protected position. Do not seal it into an airtight box, because heat shortens diaphragm life.
Can I run fewer air stones than the manifold provides?
Yes, provided surplus outlets are managed sensibly and the pump is not made to work against excessive back pressure. A correctly sized manifold makes balancing much easier.
Why is the flow lower at depth?
The pump has to overcome the pressure created by the water above the diffuser as well as resistance in the airline and stone. That is why working-depth output is the honest selection figure.
When should the membranes be replaced?
Inspect them when output falls, noise changes or during routine annual servicing. Replace with the exact Flow V service part for the model.
Is this suitable for an aerated bottom drain?
Potentially, but match the pump to the diffuser depth and resistance. Deeper koi ponds may need a higher-pressure model even when the nominal litres-per-minute figure looks adequate.
