A broad compact range for aquariums, hydroponics, small ponds and water features
HX65 bridges the gap between tiny aquarium circulation and a small pond or feature pump. Our current models run from HX6510 at 480 l/h to HX6850 at 5,580 l/h, with maximum heads from 1.2 to 4.8 m.
The range is useful when the installation needs more pressure than an ordinary miniature pump but not the physical cage of a pond filter pump. It is best in clean or screened water.
One naming detail deserves attention: HX6850 is the largest current model and sits above HX6540. Choose from the actual table, not numerical order alone.

A useful staircase of flow and head
HX6510 and 6520 fit compact tanks and features. HX6530 and 6540 handle more meaningful lift, while HX6850 is a much larger step for small ponds, waterfalls or higher returns.
Do not oversize a small feature: extra flow creates splashing and can require wasteful throttling.
Clean-water applications
Use the range for aquariums, hydroponic reservoirs, formal clean-water features and screened circulation. A small intake does not enjoy leaves or fibrous algae.
Install a removable pre-screen where debris is possible and keep the impeller cover accessible.
Check the real head
At a 2 m lift, HX6510 and 6520 are already beyond or near their maximum; HX6530 or larger is required. Add pipe friction before comparing the curve.
Our advice: HX65 is attractive when pressure matters in a compact body. If solids handling matters more, use a pond-filter family.

A suitable screen can protect the intake, but it must be cleaned before it becomes a severe restriction.
Does maximum flow tell me what reaches the outlet?
No. Maximum flow is measured at little or no head. Lift, pipe length, fittings and connected equipment reduce delivered flow.
Is maximum head the height for full flow?
No. It is the shut-off end of the curve, where useful flow approaches zero.
Should I use the largest practical pipe bore?
Yes. Generous, smooth pipework usually improves real flow and efficiency.
Can I throttle the pump with a valve?
Where permitted, a valve can trim flow, but heavy throttling wastes performance. Correct sizing or approved electronic control is preferable.
How often should the pump be cleaned?
Inspect and clean the intake and impeller whenever output falls and during routine pond maintenance.
